Really hope the counter-argument that "Video Games don't need to be diverse" stops being regurgitated amongst gamers. Yeah games don't need to be political, but diversity amongst a cast of characters is what makes for intrigue and immersion ESPCECIALLY in fantasy games.
Also… The dismissiveness of diversity in JRPG's is also a real problem when darker skinned characters are referred to as "Exotic" or "Dangerous" in quite a few JRPG's… Genshin Impact being the most popular and most recent example.
