  1. Great overview! Really answered all my questions. I think in terms of favourite faction, I would have to go with Yzmir. Something about knowledge seeking in astrange new world really resonates with me.

  2. Excellent guide! I’ve only played a couple factions, but so far I’m loving Muna. The mushroom pals are too cute, and the combos you can pull off to flood your characters with boost tokens is too much fun.

  3. I'm a dyed in the wool MTG player, who has precons from other TCGs re: Force of Will, Sorcery (feels more like a board game with customisable components) etc.

Altered is going up against Lorcana and Pokemon in the younger player space – although a lot of adults play and collect Pokemon.

Looks different and has a different feel. I get Hyrule vibes from Altered.

Whereas Lorcana feels like a card game ala Pokémon, Altered feels to me like it straddles the board and card gane space – but not as much as Sorcery.

Going to need to watch a game of Altered to get a feel for gameplay. I like the artwork and world-building, as well ss doing something a lil different from standard games.

I'm moving away from metas, netdecks, spikes, et al. I want to sit down with someone and play physical cards without worrying about all the meta crap (and without a $10 whore of a company like WotC).

  4. The issue I have with this is that conflict is generally accepted practise for tabletop card games. I get that this game is geared towards collaboration, but it makes for weaker and less fleshed-out gameplay if we have already established that sabotaging and damaging other players is 'feels bad'. I also feel a lot of the rarity cycles were at least partially inspired by Keyforge. I guess it'll all come down to how interaction plays out and whether they can make it as engaging.

Might give it a go though. Axiom probs fave.

  5. I’m absolutely loving this new channel and can’t wait for more content.
I got myself both the Ysmir and Lyra sets and thought I would like Ysmir better but I’m actually loving the Lyra dice-rolling mechanic!
    Keep up the awesome work.

  6. I like disruption gameplay so I guess my favorite faction is Yzmir (also they're purple) but that's from a person who's just recently heard about the game and never tried it. Huge tcg nerd otherwise, though.
