Most of these are the ones that come with the starter packs
My guess is a mix of pricing and supply. There are a lot of portal masters who got into the series with Trap Team, so they never got to experience the first three games and are now interested in going back thanks to the growing resurgence of skylanders. The Starter Pack skylanders are the cheapest, are the starter Pack skylanders (so you want to get them for your first playthrough) and are the most stocked, so it's easy to see why someone would want them.
The sprinkling of Swap Skylanders and more commonly the Giants has to also do (I think0 with the pricing more than anything. When they released, they cost somewhere between 15-20 dollars each, while now they're 3-10 a piece thanks to how common they are. It's far easier to get a full giant collection, thanks to their only being 1 of each element.
Trap Shadow (at least for me) always seemed like a hard to find skylander, so finding him so easily at a great price is likely why he sold so well. I was never able to get him when Swap Force initially released, and like many others I really liked his design, so getting one was high on my list of skylanders.
Really cool to see the statistics of what's most popular on the site, some of it was to be expected, but seeing a few non-starter pack skylanders was interesting. Cool to see who is most sought after over the starter pack figures.

for the numbers that are wired cuz of the supply you can divide the number that you got with the number of sold

Would be interesting to see how the list changes without starter pack skylanders since I assume they sell a lot due to being so abundant. If you include 3ds starter pack characters (rattle shake), more than half the list is starter pack skylanders lol.

it's cool to see how these figures sell online now, years later. Most of the time, I see large lots for sale locally that have figures from the first 3 games. Ones like Tree Rex and Blast Zone are everywhere, and seemingly not valued as highly back in past years but when you simply look at how cool they are ignoring rarity (and of course having lots of access to buying/selling them), it's not surprising how well they sold.
I would love to see this list re-done WITHOUT any starter pack figures, just to see data without the figures that only cost $1
Man, got into skylanders a bit too late and missed out on the warehouse find and whatnot. Finally got my giants bundle now waiting on the swap bundle. Will probably try to complete the first three game sets before i move too far into the last three games figures tho lol
maybe next time, you can do a top 10 most sold in terms of units, and then do a top 10 in most profit? i feel like itd be much more interesting to see how much money was made on an expensive skylander sold a few times rather than just a massive amount of cheap skylanders being sold

Mat i have a problem and i was wondering if you could help.. my copy of skylanders imaginators for the Xbox one does not want to download correctly. It will only download to 55% and then it will stop and say that it's ready to start. but it won't let you play any skylanders other then from the imaginators line and it won't let me play past the first level. As if it's on demo mode? and the disc is not in any bad shape, only a few minor scratches and some smudges but not enough to say that's the problem. Think you could help me out?
