Best Of Owen Wright / Celebrating Owen As He Sets For Retirement At The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach

As Owen Wright announces retirement, let’s take a look back at all the moments of Owen’s memorable career on tour where he was a hard-charging ground-breaking barrel rider and powerful small wave ripper with wins at both waves of consequence and high-performance canvases (NYC, Fiji, Snapper and Tahiti).

Bells Beach means Australian surfing heritage. As one of the sport’s longest-running events, it’s an old-school test of power and rail-to-rail surfing for today’s progressive athletes. The deep history, combined with the pressure of the fast-approaching Mid-season Cut, makes getting a win and ringing “The Bell” one of the great honors in the sport.

  1. I remember meeting him on the islands a decade ago. Me and my buddies were have done brews at the local, it was firing all day so good spirits. Owen and some other pros walk in. We chop it up and mingle, great guy. I tried to suck him off in the bathroom before he left, he happily obliged but one of his buddies needed him to leave so it never happened. Can't think of a more professional, down to earth pro. Cheers mate

  4. Shame on you WSL this guy is surfing. Charges big barrels, smooth style on pointbreaks and open faces with an air game to match.

Your stupid mid season cut is the real reason he is retiring

    Shame on you WSL
