  1. One thing that I've always liked about the Batman Arkham games is the heavy environmental storytelling.

Gotham has many layers of rich history and mysteries that encourage players to try to explore and uncover its many secrets. Even since the first game, Arkham Asylum, I've always gotten happily lost exploring every nook and cranny… and was absolutely enamored with Wonder City in Arkham City. This was also displayed in the Gotham Knights game.

That was one thing that felt different with Metropolis in SSKTJL: Everything was already out in the open, shining brightly for everyone to see: Nothing to hide, therefore no secrets to discover. It just looked like a well lived in space of citizens that lived openly and confidently… the completely opposite of Gotham.

I hope future games continue this trend with Gotham.

  3. 1 – Arkham Shadow sure has the distinction of having the first in-game Batboat. Guess Camouflaj read enough of its appearances in some tie-in comics.

– Gotta thank video game architecture for staying benevolent despite the occasional roadblocks.

– And who knows, perhaps there were already ruins even before prehistoric humans first showed up on Gotham.

– Judging by Arkham City possibly 8 years later, it did become fixed eventually.

– Either way, Arkham City shall follow.

– Curious. Barbara Gordon didn't sneak in Shrike's place in the GCPD "Copy-Bat" suit she acquired from the Arkham Knight: Batgirl Begins prequel comic. Come to think of it, that suit looks surprisingly similar to the Arkham Shadow Batsuit.

– Just because they're foreboding silent watchers doesn't mean they're fearsome fighters, as we see in Arkham Knight.

– One could say that it's a rip-off of New York's Statue of Liberty, but since most DC Comics universes never have a New York and instead got Metropolis and Gotham City, it's admittedly an original construction at most.

– I do seem to remember some spike pits when binging BAV's Origins: Blackgate playthrough some time back.

– Won't be surprising if some TYGER guards do No. 1 on parts of Blackgate in case the restrooms are inconvenient.

– Aren't those the same AAs used in Arkham City?

– Still don't understand why the crates had buttloads of Batsuit cosplay, sometimes cosmetic, sometimes makes the wearer immune to damage.

– They learned enough from the Penguin Cages, it seems.

– Wait, are they talking about Origins or Origins: Blackgate?

– Perchance these were here even before the Vikings made landfall, albeit as cave entrances?

– Doubt Bolton would approve of Brainiac mind control.

– Quite a continuity nod, considering the application in Arkham Origins is difficult to check out.

– Soon, he becomes an inmate of Arkham Asylum.

– What a hope that was, Alfred.

– Eventually, Neo-Gotham too.

– True, everyone has a breaking point. However, pre-Arkham Asylum Batman really neglected the HOW and the WHY Amadeus did what he did and WHAT happened afterwards.

– Even the audience befame enamored by it. Hmm, did this painting appear in the other games' Wayne Manor appearances?

– Interesting how this is the only piece of scannable text with a narration. Wonder if there'll be more via constant updates?

– Fitting, really, considering Barbara Gordon's sidequest in Arkham Origins involved Penguin arms crates.
