I have been seeing this happen a few times in your play through and I would like to clear up a misconception you have about the resistances. With the slashing, piercing and bludgeoning resistances most of the time it will say it is for non-magical only, this means that if your weapon is magical that type of damage won’t be resisted.
Yeah definitely avoiding any kind of "pet" build since the pro's don't seem to out way the annoyances and bugs they cause.

In a fight much farther I had one big boss with two smaller units (125hp or so) and so I used thunder wave to kill the small guys by pushing them off the platform we were on in successive turns. Made the boss fight a lot easier.

The Malus Thorm encounter is one of the best excuses to roll a Charisma character. My frost mage Sorcerer talked him into letting his creepy handmaidens carve him up. Thank you Persuasion skill.

You need to let some of the other party members make skill checks other than a Beast Master.

Or recruit and ask Halsin to cast longstrider (ritual) and freedom of mouvement (non ritual) on your party members, leave him in camp retake the party member you left and go. The buffs are staying even if Halsin is not in your party.

Love how you dealt with the toll collector. What also works for her is killing certain skulls which chunk away 101 hp from her so that you do not have damage her directly. You can also approach her and give her gold so that she lets you pass and as it is seems right now the more gold you give the more experience you get. I gave her all I had on the one character which was 10k gold and I think I got 1000 experience. Not saying that it is worth it but probably good to know.
