#BadBatch #Episode6 #eastereggs

I owe you all an apology over last week’s video. I had a lot of fun speculating who built the giant mecha monster. I ended up throwing out a couple theories that were a lot of fun. One, that it was a weapon from the ancient Sith/Jedi war 7,000 years ago. Yoda confirme there were superweapons then [clip]. And darth maul even found one of these on malachor [clip]. The way the laser charged up even reminds me of the Death Star’s weapon.

I also theorized that this could have been a weapon created by a race of ancient force users called the Bendu, who we met in rebels. But, there’s a way more obvious creator of this weapon–

Doug: Your mom?

No, but good one [high five]. I think this was probably created by the Zeffo, an ancient race of force users to meet in the game Jedi: fallen order. The Zeffo kind of look like the monster, they were around before the republic, like Phee Genoa says [older, etc]. Their temples are filled with puzzles like the ones we saw in the bad batch, and mostly–the written language appears to be the same. So, sorry we missed that. Been bugging me all week.

On to the new episode.

The title, Tribe, has a double meaning. First, obviously, it refers to the former padawan Gungi searching for his lost tribe on Kashyyyk. He left the planet at a young age to join a new tribe–the jedi Order. In fact when we first met him in Clone Wars, Huyang even points out how rare and honorable that is for a wookie [clip]. But now that his Jedi tribe is gone, he’s searching to return to his original people.

But the other meaning refers to the Bad Batch themselves. They immediate;ty see that they need to help Gungi and the wookies, because they have been allies in the past. They essentially accept the former padawan as one of their own to make sure he is safe.

The episode begins on Vanguard Access, a smuggling port that is apparently run by these Axis droids . At first I thought this was weird, that droids would be running their own smuggling operation, and that they weren;t like working for someone. But actually, it fits in with what we’ve seen in star wars. Assassin roids like IGs-11 and 88 are independent, but take on contracting jobs. When luke removed the restraining bolts form R2-D2 and C-#PO, the two droids were free to leave if they wanted to. But Star wars has their weird things heer droids aren’t quite servants, but they’re pets. They seem to have feelings but obi wan says [if droids can think].

So I don;t even want to think about Lando’s relationship to L3 [how it works, not worlds]. Anyways, pop culture detective has a great video about this, I’ll move on.

The Batch are selling the roids counterfeit imperial chain codes, like we first saw back in episode 2. [c;ip]. These are basically imperial security numbers that can allow criminals or rebels to get past imperial blockades. Like luthen’s fake transponder in andor [clip].

I thought it was funny that the box they;re in looks like a container for a ratchet set. Like if this show were live action, this is the kind of prop the art department night out together for them to use. Then OMega says [something feels off].

And what she’s sensing is that Gungi is on the station and in trouble.

Doug: Si what’s going on? Is she force sensitive?

You know what man, I am like 90% she’s going to turn out to be force sensitive. Like even in the first couple episodes she seems to have an intuitive understanding of crosshair’s feelings [clip]. And the Kaminoans really wanted her DNA back. They said that this was because she was the last unaltered clone of Jango fett, so they could use her dna to make even better clone troopers–but I kind of think they were trying to implant midi-chorlians into clones, to create a their own army of jedi knights.

  1. Good episode, but another thing that doesn't make sense, is that the wookies would know the empire and the way it works by now. So when they attack and defeat the local magistrate and mercenaries, they would know this would signal the empire to keep coming, and that they should leave.

  2. While Omega being Force sensitive makes sense, I kinda think it might be a bit different. Personally I think her special talent is that she can mirror people to learn new skills. She's basically Taskmaster. She constantly mirrors people and picks up new skills incredibly fast.

  3. THEORY:
At the end of the episode Tech is translating and says something along the lines of “finding a new path.” What if the Bad Batch a one of the founders of The Path to save escaped Jedi and clones?

  4. How is the bad batch able to eat ? They have failed every mission this season. They have made no money. It kind of bothers me. I know they are doing good deeds but it would be nice if they could build a little wealth to have security against the empire. Have their own hidden HQ or something.

  5. I know we saw gungi in the trailer but his reveal to be a surviving Jedi seems bland to me…. Like it wasn’t a big deal that this planet has another surviving Jedi and down played it as more of a side quest than actually being taken seriously.
Idk I was expecting a little more of dramatic and meaningful moment, but he just kinda pulls it out lol

  6. 11:46 You just… you did NOT… oh my god you did, didn't you…
The video game you are talking about and showing is Star Wars: KNIGHTS of the Old Republic from 2003 (KOTOR). Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is completely different. Kinrath first appeared in KOTOR.
I'm trying so hard not to rage, I'm sure it was unintentional (or maybe some running joke I'm missing…)

  7. I think that D Squad and Colonel Gascon will appear in bad batch soon , maybe they had something to do with rescuing jedi survivor's. I think that they would of been commissioned to destroy jedi droids and tech around the galaxy , but seeing how the empire treats people, I think Colonel gascon would take D Squad and help people, maybe eventually join the rebel alliance , and eventually appear in Skeleton Crew show .

  8. When O is close to being found by the droid, is she using the force to make it change its mind and search another place?
Also is she realizing with Gunji and the spiders, that a force user can control some animal beings?

  9. I really liked this episode, it’s a pity I just expected at the end that what if they show us the RC-1207 (Sev) commando sniper clone that disappeared during the war on Kashyk from the Star Wars: Republic Commando game and he will take the place of Crosshair.

  10. i think Omega is a clone of Anakin Skywalker. Her face is almost identical to TCW Anakin. Palpatine knew Anakin was the chosen one. Anakin had a higher midiclorian count than Yoda. Since they are trying to create force sensitive clones. I think it would be a no brainer to use Anakins blood to do it. If not Anakin, then she is probably a clone of Palpatine. She shows no resemblance whatsoever to the Fett clones. Boba was created at Jango's request because he wanted a child. Why would he not keep Omega too? Because it's not his daughter.
