First up was some maintenance/repair on Trailmater from the Wrecker Games. It was staying in 1st gear and we tracked it down to a broken shifter. After replacing that it was back to work. We got a call for a jeep up on the Metal Masher Trail with a broken steering knuckle. The knuckle is an aftermarket brand and aluminum. So we grabbed some things hoping for a decent enough repair job to get it off the trail and down to the road where it could be towed back to the parking lot. Instead we got a rather inventive trail repair that drove it off the trail, back to the parking lot, and I believe after we left they drove it back to town. So it went well and got them out before dark. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Rory that was a good one..creative thinking for sure. I donβt care what a portion of the off road community says ..cast aluminum knuckles area a terrible idea.
With all of those aluminum knuckled jeeps running around your neck of the woods, it might not hurt to just have a few of those steel bandages made up and ready to go. Don't know how different the castings are from one knuckle to the other but it might be an idea. Cool repair!
as the repairman I shouldn't be surprised that its working, yeah I've done a few of those kinda fixes
wd-40 is a handy tapping fluid in a pinch for aluminum. I like your ingenuity on this repair!
Thanks!
As always awesome job guys
Rory we can weld aluminum to steel
that was an awesome repair, I would've kept wheeling it.
the steel cap is definitely something you should consider making for those aluminum knuckles
What's the logic of using aluminum for a knuckle? If there is any place you do not want to skimp on strength…seem a knuckle would be in the top 5.
Very impressive trail repair.
Well done bro! I would wager stronger than before π€·π»ββοΈ

So that comes with a lifetime warranty ππ great job, looks like it would hold better than the Aluminium one ,I would have driven it home. thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
u shouldve taken the tire off
Aluminum is for weight reduction,
But not a good tensile strength for suspension, titanium or scaldium would be better for strength and function.
Aluminum is better for panels, (doors ,fenders) or maybe frame,
But certainly not major suspension parts,
Especially ones out on the end of axles between the tire and the shock,
That's alot of abuse area component.
Good fix on MOAB MOTORSPORTS TEAMπ
You should have a few of those pre made… You might save some time…
Just saying
Awesome job, and thanks for your videos
You should ask for the repair piece back use on the next one.
Entertaining and informative. Love watching this channel.
Did you mention why you were unable to remove the wheel to get to the knuckle?
That was a very innovative repair! Job well done.
