Australia has ‘never been ready for war’

Small Business Women Australia Amanda Rose says Australia has “never been ready for war”.

Her comments follow the Defending Australia Summit where former Labor minister Kim Beazley said ‘we could not defend ourselves now without the Americans’.

“That’s why we are so close to the US, that is why there is an obsession that we partner with them, follow them, do everything that they say because we need them if there is going to be war,” she told Sky News host Caleb Bond.

  1. In the late 80's early 90's, when i served, this nation was absolutely ready for combat as were all the real men and women serving this nation. Now, the defence heirarchy is more concerned with matters of gender and sexuality and putting so much money into these woke agendas. I advised my children against joining the Army as i did at 17.

  2. Ah you recon mate !!!
It still surprises most of us that our country can’t defend itself when it’s always been pretty obvious we have a great resource rich amazing country that is actually worth taking.
This should never have been a problem for us Aussies we are mightily pissed off that we’ve been let down and led down a road to a possible war we can not win ,because of this weakness shown to possibly adversaries I fear for the future of not just democratic process but also of the extinction of our way of life here in Australia.
It’s an amazing place we have here, pitty we were to arrogant to see just how lucky we have been here and we will lose this awesome place and life because of our own assurance over our future and arrogance to think the world would never change.
    This is our curse

  5. Nope, agree. I was in the RAAF from 1973 to 1988, we had no chance back then and its progressively gotten worse over the years. I have spent all my working life in Australian Defence both as active and support roles and nothing has changed. We NEED the US as we did in WW2.

We are too busy buying fitted for but not with. Also we want top shelf stuff but we dont buy quantity. Sometimes, quantity is better than quality. We should look at the Swedish Grippen, great multi role aircraft, and much cheaper to buy and support than the F35.

  6. Why would the young people go to war to protect the houses and lands of greedy boomers .
And when the sky darkens and the prospect is war,

Who’s given a gun and then pushed to the fore

And expected to die for the land of our birth

When we’ve never owned one handful of earth?

  7. I spent 27 years in the Army from 1958 to 1986 and at no time could have really defended Australia, The Equipment was old weaponry old pay was lousy. On my two tours of Viet name if it was not for the American supply system we have never had any ammunition I could go on but it is too damaging oh! and when I served we only had to know how to kill or injure the enemy none of this cuddly bear stuff and did not need a lawyer.
