Aurangzeb – Whitewashing Tyrant, Distorting Narrative | Saurabh D. Lohogaonkar | #sangamtalks

The narrative which has been built around Aurangzeb as being ‘a product of his time’ and a ‘misunderstood king’ has prompted the author to look for the historical accuracy of this portrayal. The reign of Aurangzeb is mired in claims and counterclaims. Who was he really? As described by his court records and chronicles of contemporaries or the reinterpretation by modern-day historians?
This book is an attempt at a fact-finding exercise.

About the speaker:
Born in Pune & now residing in Mumbai, Shri Saurabh Lohogaokar was interested in India’s history from a very young age. This curiosity led to a vast reading horizon, and now after over two years of painstaking research, it has shaped his debut book.

  1. War is too important to be left to the generals while history is too precious to be left to the historians. Digging up the history of the pathetic Tyrant that Aurangzeb was and flaying his character is needed during every generation.

  3. Excellent work. Hats off to you for doing such an incredible work. I feel so sad that Hindus have suffered so much for so long. We should make every effort to learn from history. I feel even British did not do so much injustice as the Mughals and Muslims

  4. Mohi ud din the real name of the tyrant. The popularized name is honorific. His mission was to destroy India’s culture and civilization and supplant it totally with Arabic, Turkish and Persian Systems. Mohi ud din had no locus standi and any business to be in India.
