Atul Subhash Suicide Case: Bengaluru Techie’s Suicide Note Goes Missing From Drive; Police Responds

Several files in a Google Drive link that were shared by Atul Subhash before his death have gone missing. The files missing include his 24 page suicide note and a letter titled β€˜To Milords’ that criticised the justice system. This happens nearly a week after the 34 year old techie Atul Subhash died by suicide. Several social media users have alleged a cover up attempt in the case that has grabbed national attention. Some users, who had saved the files earlier have shared them again on multiple platforms. Meanwhile, senior police officials clarified that all documents and devices were seized from Atul’s flat. These were sealed as evidence, dispelling rumours that the Google Drive link had gone missing.

  2. The Atul Subhas Suicide Case: A Wake-Up Call

Why do we always need a tragedy to spark a conversation about the issues that plague our society? The recent case of Atul Subhas, who took his own life due to alleged harassment by his in-laws, is a stark reminder of the need for change.

Twenty years ago, the concern was about how a girl would adjust to her in-laws' household. Today, the tables have turned, and it's the mother-in-law who worries about how she'll be treated by her daughter-in-law.

Times have changed, and women's empowerment has reached new heights. However, our laws and societal attitudes still lag behind. It's time for us to re-examine and amend our laws to provide better protection and support for victims of harassment and domestic abuse.

Moreover, it's alarming to note that false cases against husbands and their families are rampant. The laws, in their current form, are often misused to harass and extort innocent families. The stringent laws make it next to impossible for them to get out of these false cases, leading to immense mental trauma and, in some cases, even driving them to take their own lives.

Let's use this tragedy as a catalyst for change. Let's work together to create a more just and equitable society where everyone can live with dignity and respect. It's time for us to demand reforms in our laws and ensure that justice is served without bias or prejudice.
