There was the trailer for the collectors edition for Assassin’s Creed Shadows that was released, and in that trailer, there was a moment where the full map seemed to be revealed to us. What I want to do in this video is pretty much go over the full map that was shown, and go over some things that I felt are worth mentioning in regards to the map such as breaking down each region and certain things that we might see in the game.

Assassin’s Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Created by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the Assassin’s Creed video game series depicts a fictional millennia-old struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control. The series features historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters intertwined with real-world historical events and historical figures. In most games, players control a historical Assassin while also playing as an Assassin Initiate or someone caught in the Assassin–Templar conflict in the present-day framing story. Considered a spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, Assassin’s Creed took inspiration from the novel Alamut by the Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol, based on the historical Hashashin sect of the medieval Middle East.

I prefer bigger maps, provided that it is not at the cost of lower map quality.
Your so late. I’ve seen a similar less detailed picture showing the whole map and all the regions. All you had to do was look up AC shadows map lol
well. big map means game is a failure already
No ones buying this woke agenda driven game. I won't play as a female nor an african in a historicaly asian region. No , the african was not a full samurai, did not have two swords and carried tools for Oda while gifted a house and retinue. This is just brainwashing Disney style, boycott this trash.
I'm very glad the open world is back I had a lot of fun with Odyssey and Valhalla it was not boring or empty. I will play this game for sure.
I like big maps like rdr2
when it comes to big maps vs small maps I fall in the range of medium to average sized maps
Bout to be the best assassins creed in the series
I recently visited Kyoto and let me tell you, it has a lot of history there that I’m hoping they capture in the game. The almost golden looking temple you see surrounded by water with small little mounds of land looks to be kinkaku-ji which I also visited while there. The temple in real life is completely gold plated and is an amazing place to visit if you go.
What a horrible game,ac after syndicate died
I love Ubisoft games for their beautiful environments. I usually just explore without taking any mission
2:14 "the world in Valhalla is historically accurate" Bruh what are you saying. That is one of the most historically inaccurate maps they did for this franchise.
Great summary, however, a couple of pointers:
1) "Osaka castle" existed to an extent at the time…as it was built (1583) within the site (and remains) of the monastery fortress of Ishiyama Hongan-ji (destroyed in 1580);
2) Himeji castle should be significantly different from what it is today…as it was expanded in 1581 and a couple of times after…before being demolished, and rebuilt (expanded) in 1600 to roughly its current dimensions…
For me, my biggest concern is the map size claims that will meet AC: Origins size, but scale will be more representative of the locations size…the provinces on the map include a huge number of big settlements (both towns and cities), many historical relevant villages (case of Fukuchiyama we see on the trailer – there are several more important villages in tbe region), the post stations on the Nakasendo or Tokaido (played a major role in spionage and army movements back then), the religious complexes in the mountain ranges that should be in the game (e.g. Mount Koya or Mount Yoshino) etc…
Given the amount of content, it feels to me hard to believe they would be able to fit all this content in a map the size of AC Origins and make it justice….
I want a bigger map
Whilst Valhalla’s map is rubbish, I can confirm it is accurate from living in England
When i was playing the RPG Trilogy (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla) i really wanted a single city AC game like we used to have. When we finally have Baghdad in AC Mirage, i changed my mind and wanted the full scale open world like the RPG trilogy…
I really appreciate your work .
Getting a heads up before the game .
I am still skeptical about that map in the collector's addition being fully revealed
I far prefer a good large map. Mirage's map was essentially just one or two towns because of all the blank space, and valhalla's map was huge but similarly empty. Games like Elden ring and horizon zero dawn/forbidden west had large maps jam packed with unique experiences.
2:00 the only map in Valhalla that had me engaged was America with the native Americans. Something about the unknown and barely explored region with almost no buildings and a native village was so beautiful, I’m also Native American so it was really fun going into my own history
I’m replaying Odyssey right now and their recreation of Greece is genuinely incredible! Can’t say enough good things about it
Yeah not too focused on size. I just want know how many side activities (not side quests) they gonna be. Will there return of gladiator style tournaments like in origins.
Will be there be chance sail sea on ship like black flag other than don't want be just one area of Japan if that make sense
Nice video as always and for me, regardless of the size, as long as the environment is dense, narrow or linear then it's for me.
ALSO I ACCIDENTALLY REPORTED YOUR VIDEO CAN YOU TELL YOUTUBE ABOUT IT I HOPE I DID NOT CAUSE TROUBLE😭
I'll say this about big maps the witcher 3 has a huge map and it's a game i can i still play and enjoy even after multiple playthroughs because it's done so well Valhalla is a huge map but I'm not even halfway through because it's hard to stay interested in big maps are not a problem so long as it's done well
While not a huge AC fan/player, Black Flag was the 1st one I played and Origins is probably my 2nd favourite open world game I've recently played, but, Shadows looks like an AC game I wouldn't mind getting into again.
Odyssey only got 20hrs of play before I called it quits, and I'm already British so I didn't care much for Valhalla and horseriding around boring England countrysides and, Mirage seemed like Origins 1.5 without Bayek, so I skipped that one too.
Been in love with Japan since I was a kid in the 90s and ancient feudal Japan will be even more scenic, plus, it helps that he's a black man living in Japan (a dream of mine).
Here's the thing back in Odyssey and Valhalla we had gigantic maps but most cities, towns and area's just felt the same and it wasn't really alive. Small maps however can make places feel more alive and dense and it gives the chance to put more detail into the map.
(Also just wanted to say that i was inspired by The Hidden One and MasterAssassin to kind of start my own Assassin's creed youtube channel. So i just wanted to thank you Hidden One for really inspiring me to follow a dream of mine.)
A small map of trees and fields lmao
Bigger map please 😢😢😢❤
Bot channel with bot comments
I rather a smaller map full of places to discover and not empty spaces you just travel through. Still it looks so beautiful that I will discover every inch of the map.
smaller to get to know the city/place with some outside exploring
2:17 i think your wrong valhalla has the best map and best immersive world thats my opinion and i think origins is more empty than valhalla , when i played valhalla i didnt even thought for a second that the map is empty
At 8:00 what landmark is he talking about? The Arc?
WAKASA? No it's" WAKANDA" 😂
tell somebody to ubi for mirage, the control is still awfull, how suppose to byu the new assasin creed ? byu someone onother buggie game ?
