Assassin's Creed Mirage: The Best AC Game In Years

Assassin’s Creed Mirage has now been out for over a month and I’ve been working on putting this long video essay about it ever since I rolled credits. Assassin’s Creed Mirage was a very special experience for me. I haven’t enjoyed playing a new Assassin’s Creed game as much as Mirage in a long time. It’s by no means a perfect game as I highlight many of its flaws in this video but to me, it’s certainly the best Assassin’s Creed game in the last nine years…

  1. I think both are awesome I think Valhalla and odyssey are amazing if you think of them as history based rpg games with assasins creed elements and lore I think they should be considered spin offs cause I want more like mirage but I want more like odyssey too for what they are

  2. I thought that the Nehal twist was absolutely phenomenal also from a psychologic perspective:
Basim and Loki are the same person. But Basim doesn't consciously know about his past life. And since Character is largely shaped by experiences, he has developed his character as Basim growing up in Baghdad. But the subconscious memories of the experiences in his former life also shaped his character, and some of those traits are at odds with his personality as Basim, thus feeling alien to him. That's why it makes perfect sense that his mind would not accept them as part of his own personality but portray them as another person.

  3. The combat is boring and trash. ONE weapon throughout the entire game and it’s just parry and dodge? 4 hours of gameplay and I don’t think I can bare another minute.

  4. I am really sorry but I don't think anyone should praise Ubisoft for doing something we took for granted in the past, we went from asking for innovation and immersion to begging for Assassins in Assassin's Creed, the state of the AC community is beyond pathetic.

  5. I don’t get Assassin’s Creed fans. They want a game like old AC. They get one, and now the game is too basic and nothing new. It’s literally what they asked for.

  6. also, it's nice how this has a similar note to AC 1 where questioning even your own creed, THE creed is a way to go.
The hypocrisy within it, and true freedom for the self. The culture of assassins was to see through the masters lies, become a dai, lest they forever be a novice.

  8. For the whole second half of the game I was all like: "She is the mirage! She is the mirage! Yes? No? Wait, where did she go? Exactly!"

Great video btw! Everything in details. The only thing I wished you to talk a bit longer is the OST as it is gorgeous! Good old near-east rave, just like in AC1 with a bit more bass(im) χD

  9. I loved origins, blackflag, syndicate … but I hated playing Odessy and Valhalla I stopped playing it mid game and wasted my money …. I’m having my doubts about mirage … should I buy this or not
