Assassinating Hitler: Nazi Germany's Last Chance at Salvation

In total, Hitler survived no fewer than 42 assassination attempts from the time he first began his rise to power in the early 1930s, until he eventually took his own life roughly fifteen years later. Some of these plots were no more advanced than a lone-gunman looking for the perfect opportunity to strike, while others required the careful planning and coordination of hundreds. Today, we will be taking a look at this dark time in history and discussing some of the more well-known plots as well as how and why they failed.

  1. Most wonderful introducing & informative coverage about Adolf Hitler assassinations which attempted to eliminated him & feild…during 30-40th years of last century European countries were under British intelligences dominate also during WW2 Sir Winston Churchill identified ( German resistance against Nazi party & regime as ( died or death resistance)…So British policy at that times wanted direct invading of Germany by Allies not internal coupon for strategic capitulate of Germany …thanks for sharing..I appreciate your working hard..

  2. He didn't get assasinated, because he was so evil, nobody can kill evil people.

Evil people only die by suicide. Unless you break their guardian demon, which is hard, you need to fast and when you do that, you don't want to kill, since murder is a sin.

  3. It is mind blowing to know that Hitler avoided so many assassination attempts. So many of them sounds like something you'd see in a film or something. Several them sound very interesting. And I can't say I ever knew there was a German resistance to Hitler, so yeah, really crazy stuff.

  4. The night of the long knives was an internal power struggle, which Ernst Roehm lost… so he and his SA were murdered by those Nazis who won. Ernst Roehm was a committed Nazi, a thug, utterly ruthless and brutal, a friend of Hitler from the early days and also gay… the being gay bit played a role for some of his Nazi friends who plotted against him, others just wanted more power. Anyone murdered during the night of long knives were hardcore Nazis, so no innocent blood spilled … Nazis turning on other Nazis, for power, and because at the end of day someone who does not fit their worldview will be taken care once the person served his/ her purpose….

  5. The real blame should be in France, England, and the rest of the powers that fought in WW1. If their aim had been better he might have just died in the mud and we never would've lost millions upon millions of our species

  6. Beyond those monuments to heroism is the Potomac River, and on the far shore the sloping hills of Arlington National Cemetery, with its row upon row of simple white markers bearing crosses or Stars of David. They add up to only a tiny fraction of the price that has been paid for our freedom.

Each one of those markers is a monument to the kind of hero I spoke of earlier. Their lives ended in places called Belleau Wood, The Argonne, Omaha Beach, Salerno, and halfway around the world on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Pork Chop Hill, the Chosin Reservoir, and in a hundred rice paddies and jungles of a place called Vietnam.

Under one such marker lies a young man, Martin Treptow, who left his job in a small town barbershop in 1917 to go to France with the famed Rainbow Division. There, on the western front, he was killed trying to carry a message between battalions under heavy artillery fire.

We're told that on his body was found a diary. On the flyleaf under the heading, ''My Pledge,'' he had written these words: ''America must win this war. Therefore I will work, I will save, I will sacrifice, I will endure, I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone.''

The crisis we are facing today does not require of us the kind of sacrifice that Martin Treptow and so many thousands of others were called upon to make. It does require, however, our best effort and our willingness to believe in ourselves and to believe in our capacity to perform great deeds, to believe that together with God's help we can and will resolve the problems which now confront us.

And after all, why shouldn't we believe that? We are Americans.

God bless you, and thank you.

  7. It's really no surprise that Hitler thought he was proteGod. And anointed by god.

The only person I can think of with more plot armor than him is Fidel Castro

  9. This may sound silly and ridiculous but i genuinely believe that at least one or two assassination attempts on Hitler's life were made by time travelers from the future trying to alter history and prevent WW2 from happening. If that is the case then it proves that history cannot be altered in anyway. Hitler was meant to start the war and was meant to commit suicide in his bunker in 1945. Those time travelers, instead of changing history, simply became a part of history: a predestination paradox.

  10. The subtitle in the thumbnail for this video, 'Nazi Germany’s Final Chance at Salvation', is an unfortunate wording. By July of 1944 “Nazi Germany” had NO HOPE of survival. “Germany” maybe, but not “Nazi Germany”. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES would there be any future for that regime. As far back as the end of 1941, after the United States had entered the war, the Germans had been made aware of the declaration, via the 'Associated Press'; that the Allies had unanimously agreed; that the war had been so heightened, so broadened & the regime’s "War of Aggression" had persisted to such an extent that the 'Allied Powers' wouldn’t be accepting anything less than “Unconditional Surrender”. So, the Germans knew by that point that the proverbial gloves were off. Then, after the Wehrmacht had been broken at Stalingrad in late 1942/early 1943, with the loss of the mighty German 6th Army; where the 'German Summer Offensives of 1942' devolved into one long, rapidly deteriorating defensive war; many of the officers at the German High Command saw the writing on the wall, and knew that it was as if the Nazi regime had just been given a diagnosis of Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer (anyone who knows different types of cancer, knows that that one’s not good, it moves fast & you don’t have that much time). So if there were any Germans harboring any hopes that there could be some kind of Armistice & ending to the war where the Nazi regime would be allowed to continue to exist, those hopes were in vain by the end of 1941.

  11. Let's see if you can tell which view is from a National Socialist, "Nazi" and which is from a Marxist Socialist, "Liberal", "progressive"

1: "Equal liability of all to work."
2: "The first obligation of every citizen must be to work both spiritually and physically."
3: "We demand the nationalisation of all associated industries."
4: "Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State."
5: "We demand legal opposition to known lies and their promulgation through the press."
6: "We demand that the state be charged first with providing the opportunity for a livelihood and way of life for the citizens." Abolition of unearned incomes.
    7: "Breaking of debt (interest)-slavery."
8: "We demand an expansion on a large scale of old age welfare"
9: "The men of the New Republic will not be squeamish, either, in facing or inflicting death, because they will have a fuller sense of the possibilities of life than we possess. They will have an ideal that will make killing worth while."
10: "I think it would be a good thing to make everybody come before a properly appointed board just as he might come before the income tax commissioner and say every 5 years or every 7 years… Just put them there and say, ‘Sir or madam will you be kind enough to justify your existence… if you’re not producing as much as you consume or perhaps a little bit more then clearly we cannot use the big organization of our society for the purpose of keeping you alive. Because your life does not benefit us and it can’t be of very much use to yourself.'"

Aside from the National Socialists, "Nazi's" being obsessed with race, their political programs were quite similar. A fact that J. Goebbels even acknowledge in a 1920's speech. Yes, the National Socialists "Nazi" beat up on the Marxist International Socialists. But all Socialists have their infighting! We see some of the same fault lines in the Democratic Party today, with one part sticking to its traditional race-based victimization theory, while the other side is fighting for a class-warfare argument. This is a classic dichotomy.
