3. Regarding Rickon… I think it's important to hold both Rickon's attitude and the objective truth in tension. You like Rickon's growing self confidence and positive self image…. as do I. Rickon says that they have their own names in Winterfell… and we all love any Frey bashing that goes on. But Rickon is no older than six at that point… is it actually true that the Starks have their own names? Sansa and Arya seem to have their own names, but Eddard's sons are all named in honor of friends and family. Jon for Eddard's foster father. Robb for Eddard's best friend. Bran for Eddard's brother. Rickon for Eddard's father. In a sense, they have their own names because Robb is not Robert, Bran is not Brandon, and Rickon is not Rickard… but to me they are nicknames. I feel that just as Eddard told Arya that the lone wolf does not survive winter, Eddard desires a pack mentality for the Starks. He wants his sons to feel a connection to the previous generation of strong, honorable, indomitable men.

   I'm not trying to nitpick. I merely want to say that Rickon is six and his understanding of the world is limited. He is literally a babe wandering in the woods. What does he really know? GRRM's use of POVs releases information from a person's particular perspective. For example, is Bran a reliable narrator? Did he actually hear Rickon say the Starks have their own names or did he get it from a guard? As another example that I think you used in another video, when Bran saw Cersei and Jaime he thought they were wrestling. It's how his seven year old brain tried to identify what he was seeing.

   Regarding Michelle Fairley… Yes, she is too old. Yes, the character of Catelyn has frustrated me for over twenty years. But I feel that Michelle Fairley brilliantly plays Catelyn. Her insight into other people's issues and circumstances while being blind to her own came across on screen. Her constant underlying fear of losing her family while trying to guard them is well done. Catelyn could never be proactive once the letter from Robert arrived. Her continued reactions to Littlefinger, Robb, Renly, Walder, and Edmure left her dazed and without Eddard to be her strength, she failed completely. I've been railing online against Catelyn since 2005, and at this point I no longer have anger… only pity. I think Michelle Fairley accurately portayed Catelyn's grief, weariness, and growing self-caused isolation.

   Keep the thoughts coming. Definitely continue to give authentic opinions. You don't like Eddard, Mary Ellen? Well, I've been blasting his parenting skills for a long time now.

6. I think it does matter who sits the iron throne when the others attack… If Cersei v Aegon or Dany that's a big difference in mattering

7. George still has to write Bran, per rumor, thats the hardest one with all the time travel possibly and having it make sense m I think that's all that's left but it's still the hardest part maybe of the whole series.

11. My brother and I were both overdue by a full month. Military doctors used to let that happen back then. I was due on Nov. 28th and was born on Dec. 28th. I was huge! Poor mom lol! Can’t wait to see y’all’s little bambino!🍻

13. On Catelyn, her sole motivation is that she wants to be a southern lady. She likes the idea of schemes and influences, her idol is her father and we all know he is a cruel player of the game of thrones. Think about, the only person we ever know she empathized with is Jorah Mormont’s second wife.
    The North is not fancy enough for her and she doesn’t like it. She wants for Ned to go to court cause she thinks she will go with him.
    She wants to go to her sister. She stays at Riverrun for way too long. She wants to be not in the North. From whom do you think Sansa gets all the desire for basically being a party girl? Sansa idolizes all the southern ways of having fun, tournies dressing up etc
    Everything comes down to Catelyn not wanting to be in the North because it is so different to the South

    And I mean, I am someone who left home at 15yo to go live in a completely different surroundings, only from me it was from rural to more urban, you get used to it, but you kind of always yearn for what you had as a kid, that’s when the world was still not looking so bad and when you felt most special
