Arran 10 vs Glenmorangie 10 & Peat Monster vs. Lagavulin 8

Oh man is tonight going to be a good match up!! Here are the showdowns, an ex-bourbon battle and a peated battle. Who do you think will take tonight’s last stand as this weeks king of the dram? (I mean King of the Hill)… *wink*

  1. If Glenmo 10 beat Arran 10 I would have been very surprised and disappointed haha. I've got a couple Arrans and Glenmos and the Arrans just deliver more of everything imo…Laga 8 also another drop that just doesn't deliver enough complexity.

  3. Could tell you right away that when you taste green fruits it is Arran, you all missed the green apple in it, which is typically Arran, they once gave me a whisky at the Whisky Club to let me guess what it was, I said straight away I taste green apple, so it is Arran……..I was proven right! When it comes to older Arran bottlings, I have tasted some fantastic stuff with rose petals! Glenmorangie is not bad but Arran delivers these days, and that is NOT a sure thing with all the crap on the market. Thumbs up from The Netherlands!

  4. As I watch your peated competition I am drinking Finlaggen which is labeled an Islay single malt. I understand that it is an independent bottling with some speculation as to where it comes from. It has a nice peaty nose and peat in the drinking. It is about $20 at Trader Joe's which is nice for a retired teacher who likes the water of life but has a limited budget. I enjoy your shows and occasionally splurge for something more expensive.
