I love twin-stick shooters (went right into calling it something else). Also, I very much appreciate the leveling and upgrade systems that have made their way into the genre. I used to play Geometry Wars for hours and hours. I like the neo-style as we shift away from the old arcade gameplay. There's a place for both, ofc, but I like the contemporary take.

People better start accepting that their will be more arena survival games, they're not vampire survivor clones, deal with it.
If you enjoy this Genre. Magic survival (mobile) is definitely a must. Completely underrated. Been playing it for a few years, it never gets old.

Funny thing, anyone played Crimsonland? It's a game from 2003.
Considering the name of the game, I would assume that the darkness is intentional and meant to be a part of the experience. I'm looking forward to seeing what the full release will have. I'm really into the arena shooter roguelike/lite genre right now and I think that there can be some really innovative and fun concepts incorporated within it.
Will you play this again or just wait for the sequel/full release?

The splinter upgrade is in fact a lot better than you think. It help spreading the fire, and it's 100% fire damage. Bounce and piercing also greatly improve the damage output together with fire and splinter.

What would you consider the true precursor to these kind of games, in a modern sense? Crimsonland is the one that comes to mind, personally
