Hello one and all and welcome to the time of the edition we have come to delight or dread. An Eldar Codex.
I am joined by revered Aeldari specialist Quinton Johnson to assist in reviewing the first 4 detachments (of freaking 8) and a bunch of notable datasheets that he and I think you all need to know about!
Now some (me) think this codex will become a problem but Quinton has played a bunch of games and is here to level out my hot takes and bring us the voice of level headed wisdom.
Hope you enjoy!

Finally, the REAL Eldar Codex review we've all been waiting for.
15 games , did I hear that right, what can Men do against such reckless hate!
I just wish this was a video 🙂
"Fun" is the current code word for broken.
The biggest thing about this codex is I think it can actually be balanced with points or other numerical changes if it ends up too powerful.
Nick used to be the main eldar guy for AoW, Quinton actually loves the faction though and you can tell.. cheers guys
Craftworlds will absolutely not be GT competitive with this codex as the AoW MFM leak points stand, they may win some lgs RTTs with lucky match ups but I doubt it. There just isn't enough points in 2000 and all the fiddly fluffy "tricks" will eat up the timer. The army rule being non-violent, ie not killy, for an unforgiving glass cannon style faction essentially constitutes a nerf that would require a 5-15% points reduction to every unit across the board, also the individual units that were genuinely nerfed, and there are many, very many would need an additional 5-15% point reduction as well. The detachment rules are weak in contrast to other factions, in some cases pathetic. For example, for a wraith host you have to take the Spirit Conclave detachment just to get the army rule at all for most of your units, mind you an army rule that is not very good to begin with. For all of the detachments there is only one good enhancement if that and maybe a niche second, and none of them are "wow" strong. The stratagems are decent across the board, but even the spiteful marine monkeys at GW can balance one point abilities. Something that might help is a small paragraph in the army rule that allows you to spend a token once per round for a command point reroll, something like that to put some shine on this totally lackluster army rule. The d6+1s should just be 6". Whoever wrote this codex either hates the eldar or is just plain stupid or both and the same holds true for whoever did the original points and the MFM leak changes. A fragile unit being able to duck behind cover after being shot is just worthless, less even on a random roll. My feeling is that the playerbase and GW at large are so prejudiced against the eldar that this is a hopeless faction for the remainder of 10th ed. I predict this will be the lowest point in the eldar's long and storied 40k history, probably by design.
Reaper’s Wager got super fun with the new Harlequin’s datasheets!
Anytime someone's main faction is being reviewed, you need to move the ranked faction a grade above what they put it imo.
Quinton thinks its A? A+1= S.
He's great but not objective. None of us are.
Counterpoint re- shining spear being bad
Breakas make less attacks with worse wounding and are much slower with equal durability. And everyone thinks they’re cranked
I don't know if it was just because of how much lower Q's volume was, but it felt like he'd get 75% through his sentences, and Adam would interrupt with his opinion.
is Eldrad 110 or 120?
