Today weβre going back in time!
Holley stood behind their brand and sent out some old school cool parts to keep us rolling. Single Sniper tunnel ram , FANCY xp carburetor and a MSD distributor to send spark. Vintage Technology to the rescue!
I also re-vamped our cooling system with a new water pump and appropriately sized drive pullies. A little more flow sure made a HUGE difference! Days are ticking away on this build, Iβve never had a car fight me this hard before!

Dan The radiator shroud .Will be blocking off the air through the radiator, because its flat If you look at the factory shrouds they funnel the air around the fan,Your shroud is trapping most of the air.and only letting the small amount through the fan,Hole.cheers kym
Is that the final choice for steering wheel??????
Buy a trailer caddy , its probably 2x4ft then you can put your slicks on it. Keep up the great work.
You should really look into remflex headers gasket !
Move your front license plate…you are blocking air
Great job guys thanks for the videos stay safe
Bring a fire extinguisher…not trying to be funny either…I'm bringing one and I'm driving a 2021 Challenger…better to have it and not use it than the opposite!
Bring Peg with you. He'll find a dump somewhere and make the dump provide for you too. πππ
Great video man
Your Sniper issues were not entirely unexpected. It's a touchy system to install, and delicate once you get it running. Everything else in the car has to be dead nuts perfect (and you have to have a bit of luck) in order for the sniper to work as advertised. Add to that the complexity of a dual throttle body setup like you were running, and well… you know.
I have a Sniper Stealth on my 2012 Windsor-swapped Mustang, and I had the benefit of already having an appropriate fuel system, O2 bungs welded in the exhaust, and a sorted out electrical system. I bought the Sniper kit (not the "master" kit), and a Hyperspark distributor, and it's been running pretty good. However, if it ever craps the bed, I'm not gonna bother trying to fix it, and will instead yank it off and go back to "the old ways" like you did.
Good luck on the power tour. I'm not going to presume to recommend tools/parts to take with you – you're obviously an experienced car guy, and you know what's what.

Always put a small fire extinguisher in your car. ππ»
I don't believe you can use full manifold vacuum for vacuum advance it has to come up the carburetor
The Nomad put up a great fight but I knew you would win, I just didn't expect extra rounds in this heavy weight fight. I would bring things that are unique to the Nomad and classic tri5's like wheel bearings , Dont remember if you put new ball joints and steering stuff in, even maybe an extra rear leaf spring, in addition to you hand tools, jack and jack stands. All the rest you can buy down here. There is an auto parts store on every corner. Really fun to watch, keep up the good work
Here you go Dan, another Nomad built by a Texan at his home garage.

Glad you are happy π itβs been a ride π watching you change everything a few times sounds good π have fun I would only take the basics you done it before and thereβs lots of things that could go wrong but I donβt think you are going to have any trouble you did a great job building the car poor visa lolπ
Hey Dan
Yes! You got thisπ
Download some Arby's coupons and have a great trip.
Take care of Yourselves π
If you haven't tuned the carb take a couple extra sets of plugs and some wires incase the headers burn a few.
I see a new hair color
Looks & sounds like you have her dialed in pretty good there , Dan . A little tuning on the carb , your driver's side header , & look out baby ! I had to LMFAO when you said it was "dinosaur" technology . I don't know if you will "share" the final appraisal or not , it's none of our business , but I'd say it's as solid as it was from the factory , plus a new drive train & everything else . Ya , that old girl is worth quite a few bucks , as it sets . Rock on , DD Speed Shop ! Good luck & happy trails to you on Power Tour .
One way to keep it consistently cooler is to run a bypass from the water pump to the intake. Chances are those aluminum heads do not have a steam pot perversion to match up to the ones that are in that older style sbc. I had to do the same with my 350 when I switched to vortec head and in doing so mine lives at 170-180. Cars looking great Dan.
You seeee that nomad on Tom Baileys Channel !!!!!!!!!
