  1. Wtf are these comments. This video does not look like shit. This video is clearly a labor of love and still took effort and hard work and creativity. Everyone crying in the comments complaining this this video is an insult to creativity are hypocrites; criticism is always warranted but trying to argue that this video shouldn't have been made, or that this technique shouldn't have been explored, is hypocritical.
    The video and effects are impressive and nothing like this could have been created in such a way 10 years ago. We're witnessing creativity being explored in new ways as the future unfurls, and in spite of that, all this negativity is just tragic.

  2. It's baffling that people are complaining that this isn't actually "anime" or "animation". Yes, we're all aware that this is primarily live-action. What Corridor means is that it's inspired by anime tropes as far as dialogue, expressions, art, effects, angles, compositions, and camera shots/angling go.

  3. I'm willing to bargain this video still took longer to make than one of Joel Haver's rotoscoping videos, and yet no one acts so negatively toward Joel. I mean, Joel traces and rotoscopes; and these guys are utilizing new revolutionary technology; at the end of the day, both creators still managed to create somewhat compelling/comedic stories with acting/scripts, music, and world-building.
    Corridor's video wasn't spat out by a computer; it still took a lot of planning, creativity, and skill. This is simply a new stylistic technique being explored. It's essentially live-action with a twist. Nothing wrong with that.
    I just don't see a reason for people to be so furious. As if this endeavor wasn't creative or as if this practice poses a threat to the animation industry.

  4. I know what would make this technique perfect. Frame pacing. Animators will draw different amounts of frames within a given second, so even though it's 24fps, the perceived motion is anywhere from 1 – 24 fps. If they worked with an animator to cut out certain frames given the correct context, this would be nearly perfect. Edit. Forgot about the camera movements, I feel like doing motion tracking for a blank character model and doing the camera movements in key frames would be insane, that way you could match the frame timing to the camera movements framerate perfectly

  7. I've rewatched an enjoyed this at least 4 times by now.
    I think the key to making an anime one off is to make it interesting to follow through on but confusing enough to make subsequent viewings revealing.
