Awesome display of tennis from Daniil. He is like a wall in the defense but also can bite in the offense. I hope he will be able to keep this level and achieve all the success he deserves.
6:30 there is a point that is shown two times.
Turns out that on the 6th point of the 1st game with Rublev serving and ahead 40-30, the Red Octopus (Medvedev) grabbed the match in his tentacles and began suffocating, drowning his opponent, just as he'd done to Djokovic. I get the feeling Rublev knew he was done for already at that stage.
When Daniil is on like this, he probably is the no.1 player in the world, its just whether he can sustain this level.

Rublev needs to take more balls out of the air when Medvedev is defending. Swinging volleys to put him away rather than letting all those defensive shots bounce and let him back in the point.

How do you stop this guy man? He plays so far back so he can wait for the ball to drop, slow down a bit & hit a powerful shot. For opponents, they are at the mercy of waiting & anticipating a difficult shot from Medvedev bc he waits to take a full & powerful swing. If you play a bad short ball against him you can easily lose the point bc he is just so fast. 6’6 & fast. Being that tall & fast is hard to come by. He can cover so much court bc of his height & speed & can also generate a lot of power on every shot
