PotenzaDSP’s new VST, Amigo, is a sampler that emulates the OG 8-bit Amiga sound heard in many drum & bass, jungle, & house tracks during the 90s. This thing RULES. #musicproduction #amiga

bigup mate ! lovely video
damn, and for 13 dollars? instant cop, thanks for showing this off!
Thanks for video. I wish this plugin was standalone (TAL too), it's easier for DAWless jams with a computer
Found out about this last night and just knew Thought-Forms would deliver a video about it in 24 hours or less 👍🏿. I was messing with ProTracker 2 clone a few years ago, and while I've dabbled with trackers here and there, I could never really get into them so I'm glad someone finally made something I can use inside of a DAW.
Wow, my subwoofer really loves that low kick sample.
This is the plugin I live for. I have already purchased it.😊❤
Not only can it be used beautifully for some Amiga Jungle/Rave stuff, but it's also great for emulating that amazing "crispy" sound that's absolutely stunning for example in "Namco System 22" arcade games.
An example for all:

Real amiga nuts called it ah-mig-ah
This looks super cool and came out just in time for me to make my Autechre-inspired techno and ambient album…I even got a Realistic Concertmate-500 (the Radioshack reskin of the Casio Sk-1) to do it!
any of those functions can use ableton automation? ..
This is great! Just what he doctor ordered. Why do I have a felling that we will see Pete Cannon using this in the near future.
Ok, but how do you record or Automate this? How do you apply it to a song? How to use it in a practical application that is repeatable..,
The hoops I’ve been jumping through to make this sound… this is great
You need multiple Amigos when you want to use different effects in a sample? For example if I want to program normal slices and at the end of bar want to use rev or timestrech, can I record it somehow with the same vst or do I need to open multiple instances, each for certain trick?
wow! amazing video! was so much fun programming this over the past 2 months 😁. Seeing everyone’s lovely words in the comments is crazy to see ❤️. thank you all for enjoying the Amigo. big love
This plugin will pave the way to a new wave of proper oldschool jungle 🙂
Wow. This looks like it really enables you to do some things that previously took some extra editing skills and time to implement.
Whats the first background song in this video?🙏
TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!
Still got my akai s1000
Oh thanks for this tip!
I’ve thought about bringing my A1000 and A1200 into the studio, so I just must try this!
(Too bad the colours make the text hard to read. Why not use the original colours? I will contact the developers about this. Please do that you too.)
And.. I see that you use the same DAW as I. Bitwig Studio! ☺️👍
Edit: Noticed your other videos, so I subscribed. 😁
when is an fl patcher recreation being made
thanks for letting us know, gettin old skool vibez
This is really really cool. The developer should consider the possible option of turning off the bit-reduction – this kind of quick sampler/slicer is something that is sorely needed in Reaper.
instant purchase, this is amazing
Very Nice thanks !
ohhh hells yeah!!
I could do a combo simpler + erosion to achieve a similar result, but I think I can lose 10 bucks to have that nice early millennial looking sampler that makes me wanna make illegal-liquid-funky-dnb.exe
Let me put my chapter. 3:05
ah that Amiga DAC sparkle!
do you need tracker software also ?
dude was having to much fun with the stretch
Block ….rockin ….beaaaatsssss lol😅
Budget vst love it
I still regret selling my S 1100 (for $300) 20 years ago. I have yet to find something that makes drums sound as good.
welp. guess i'm getting it!
This the sexiest fucking VST I ever seen!!
0:28 where can I find that vocal SFX? :O
Probably a really stupid question but… HOW DO I ACTUALLY USE IT??? I don’t like using the piano roll to play specific chops is there any other way to use it? I can’t figure it iut
crazy! such great vst 🙂 thanks mate! cheers
Wild
Blown away by how good this is for just 13 bucks. Really quick and fun to use and fantastic sound! Could get the same results through other means but it wouldn't be anywhere near as fast or as musical. Having the "Akaizer" built in it's a game changer for me. And a fun chord memory mode built in?? 10/10 full stop.
Not only is this plugin super rad, this is perhaps the most entertaining video to watch on all of YouTube.
As someone who has started of his music production obsession using octamed, this is definitely my cup of tea!
this is awesome, sounds great on drums.
Great video mate, getting nostaligic❤
Omg this is THE sound i have been wanting for 20 years lmao. ❤
Can I ask, how well does this plugin do with saving/loading projects? Many sampler plugins I've used have ruined projects of mine when they inexplicably refuse to remember and load samples from a saved project. (Kontakt and Logic's EXS are on my good list. Sforzando, Decent Sampler, TX16Wx have all broken my heart)
Amigo sounds like an instant buy IF it isn't gonna break my heart when I try to load a project, but I am a bit gunshy with stuff like this.
