  1. Amphibia is such an interesting show. I personally loved it more because of the wacky hijinks and the comedy than because of the dramatic moments, but the ending of Episode 09 never fails to make me choke up. As one of the few who didn't quite feel the emotional gut-punch of S1 E20 (I'll admit it: the use of "Lean on Me" lessened the experience for me), this is the first really heartfelt, sad moment in the series, in my experience.

  2. Hop Pop getting stuck in voice over mode is hilarious, lol.

    "Hopping Mall":

If they had paid attention, Sprig would have known what the best item would have been…without having to play the forbidden note….

Even though she doesn't get the teapot, Anne's gift of the butterfly hairclip was sweet.

The ending broke me. Just Anne hugging Sprig and then his eyes welling with tears.

  3. First of all, after "Little Frogtown" we can say for sure that the Plantars (especially Hop Pop aka the Wrecker) are a menace to the entire Amphibia society. No wonder they are so cool about the newt-eating monster from another world hanging out with themπŸ˜€ Second, "Hopping Mall" was surprisingly heartfelt. "Amphibia" is a light-hearted comedy most of the time but when it changes its tone into more dramatic and serious – it hits right to the point. As for the question – I don't usually cry at tv shows but "Hopping Mall" came close to make me.

  5. We're finally at this episode, where everyone was unexpectedly hit with the ending. I especially love how Hopping Mall, for the most part, plays out like a normal episode of Amphibia, so the ending (while not completely out-of-left-field) still comes as a surprise, and boy what a surprise we get.

  7. I know a lot of people think this but I really do have one of the greatest moms ever and we have such a great relationship. It makes me feel that much more sorry for Anne and Sprig's situations since it is hard to imagine what my life would be like if I didn't have both my parents there for me so much growing up. I really do feel for them!

Also the creators said this in an interview ahead of time so I am not sure if it would count as a spoiler. But you brought it up yourself so I have to tell you. It was just a few episodes after this that the creators offically anounced:
"Amphibia is NOT on Narnia time."
