I wouldn't even have cared… If they'd just have added a first person mode. That's all I wanted, to explore a big, interesting open world with my character's own two eyes. It's easier to demonize corporations when they don't even make products you like.
I have zero sympathy for anyone who gets suckered into this game. It is clear the game is made with the corporate mindset of extracting as much money as possible from players. There appears to be no love in making this game.
The comedy of it all is even if they insist on paid QOL features, they seem to have skipped the chapter about *sneaking* them into the game in the GAAS playbook. You know, lest it backfire horribly in an inferno of player backlash by warning them in advance 😂 😂
So I can either pay to not play the unfun parts. Or just not play at all. Hmmm wonder which I will choose
Kinda sucks cause New World looks interesting. I like MMOs but I stopped playing FF14 cause I was alone. I was hoping to get my mates on this… then the game does shit like this
How to fuck up a game before release 101
I wasn't even waiting for this game now I'm not even trying it
I like how they're already discussing the store first and….not the actual game.
Dang I was kinda looking forward to this game
Lol, imagine trying to make your first successful game with something as complicated as balancing an MMO.
Amazon either has alot of balls or just knows nothing about what they're doing, companies usually earn goodwill by releasing great games and then they implement shitty practices.
I’d ask the rich kids on the other side for some money.
Microtransactions in a MMO? Guess I skip this game.
I really miss the days where PC games were truly free to play/subscription based and console games were a ‘pay once’ type of deal
Wtf..fast travel? They gonna pay wall fast travel?? Wow
they keep pushing more egregious things because idiots keep paying for it. vote with your wallet please.
If its mmo and you want to pay to progress then you should be able to. And if you dont want to then dont. Someone who progresses quicker shouldnt effect your gameplay. Then about games that have memberships. A lot of those addons will push you passed people who doesnt have the membership. Lol I think people are more mad because they know they will end up spending money because they dont like knowing someone is leveling faster than them lol
What a shame, had to unsub from you for shilling and now have to unsub from this game i wanted to buy for shilling. shameeee
Hey as long as the in game store is working at launch and looks sweet, what does anything else really matter?
how to perform an abortion on a video game.
I am really thankful that they don't even try to hide the scam at all.
So they'll release as 'cosmetic only' then wait a few months to look good and rope in a broad audience only to pull the rug out once they've collected the upfront cost consumers pay. Classy.
3 words, Dead on Arrival
Well, at least they are being upfront and honest about their plan to milk it for the first few months to make sure all the reviews are out before they destroy anything that could remotely resemble an enjoyable game experience. Kudos to you devs and publishers, I'll be sure to sit this one out.
The game will NOT be having pay to win (until after the reviews are in).
They'll do it. They all do it. It's all about the money.
I feel it is necessary to once again point out that Final Fantasy XI came out before WOW and even to this day has remained quite profitable WITHOUT the existence of a cash shop in game, and that's even after Sony and Xbox support for the game was dropped roughly 10 years ago. The game now only remains playable on pc and is perhaps one of if not the only viable option if you enjoy mmo's and still have a shred of self-respect. Just saying…
