  1. Depending on the difficulty of the game this might be good. Chasing for the way to get the golem jewels might be nice, if the golem build is viable in maps and jewels are not mandatory to progress (aka they are locked up in a t16 unique map, but your golem build cannot complete it without them so you're locked up in progress 😞)

  2. If the Archnemesis balance manifesto is anything but “Archnemesis mods can now only spawn on petrified monsters which only are located in maps with the appropriate Kirac mission or the new Archnemesis Scarab” we will be disappointed.

  3. I mean trying to craft a jewel ATM is a pita getting a decent three mod is difficult a four mod can be crazy expensive. At least jewels don't currently have tiering so hopefully the ranges for ailments won't be too high

  4. With this update I'm just going to assume that they have done everything in their power to fix and and adjust all the problems that came with 3.19.

Otherwise, why would they spend time and resources on changing something that wasn't really a problem to begin with. At least not a problem that should have taken time and resources away from more pressing issues at the moment.
After 3.19 I think most players will have high expectations on what changes they will do, and judge 3.20 extra harshly.
I just hope that we won't have a repeat of 3.19. The last thing the game needs now really.

  5. That line scares the shit out of me too. Jewels and unqiues are going to be more and more rare to the point where everything is ashes level rare now. They are trying to hard to make us play longer and instead it's making us quit.

  6. Same boat. The manifesto just showed they are using the same balancing techniques we've seen fail recently, and simply stuff that on paper make sense but in reality are a waste of fucking dev time (removing unique jewel quest rewards, i.e.). A lot of stuff depending on implementation, and in the past implementation is where things have been constantly breaking down.

We'll see today with the AN manifesto. This one didn't give me any hope at all but things may change.
EDIT: Just finished watching the video and I am mindblown that you articulated my thoughts almost exactly. This is just spooking me a bit more because if more people are seeing the same exact issues then it's probably going to become real issues when it releases.
I'm going to gaslight myself into thinking everything will be fine and inhale some hopium until the AN manifesto for now. I want to believe! I want to play 3.20!

  7. Why does it still surprise people that all changes implemented by GGG will:
    1) Reduce build diversity
    2) Increase one-shot/inexplicable deaths
    3) Reduce player defenses and damage
    4) Generally make the game more grindy and RNG-driven.
We know these things in advance by now. Chris wants an impossibly difficult grind where you keep 'closing your eyes and Exalting items' and no amount of community feedback is going to stop him. Offering small buffs – countered by massive nerfs – is the way he's softening the blow. But the course is set. Looking at any new manifesto and expecting anything different is wishful thinking.

  8. This is very worrisome! Why not fix what doesn't work than nerf what does? Restricting instead of rewarding a Better Jewel/Gem? WHY? Golem Builds were fun so lets remove Fun from the Game? 3.20 isn't sounding very good at all

  9. hehe the GGG should add the gamble option as it was in Diablo then lol. I really don't want the PoE become more diablo like and I don't play PoE cause it's like diablo….. man I feel bad.. Anyway thank you for the info Ducks. You are great help since i usually don't have much free time to read these manifestos. Thanks 😀

I mean if they want me to have fun playing the game, they should've just let it be 😀. I had plenty fun just playing without even getting to the final bosses of the game.

  10. I finally bought diablo iii and it's so much more polished and simpler than poe. I spent maybe 30 minutes researching gear on websites and maybe five hours of youtube videos for over 100 hours of great gameplay. POE was like 50 hours of research and POB for 100 hours of gameplay but I've repeated that about 10x so 500 hours for 1000 hours. And still I can barely craft anything. I can buy a weapon with stat that can be removed and then use cheap fossils to get a +gem mod, yippy. I know maybe how half the leagues mechanics really work but it's all the simple ones. I didn't even realize people were using jewels for ailment mitigation. Now it makes sense why nodes have just a % of ailment mitigation. I just started using purity of elements because the nodes seemed useless. I thought maybe with some % on gear it might make sense but it would be a nightmare as you upgrade. Anyways, I find there's too many ailments and they're so confusing. In diablo 3 you got fire cold poison and that's it I think. And you can dodge all of them so it adds a great skill element if you wana be glass a cannon. Still many things I don't like about Diablo 3 like having to gamble and rely on luck/grinding. But it's easy enough to get your gear set at least. And you could gamble way more in POE I guess. But in Diablo when I reroll a stat I have the option to keep last stat so it's never breaking my stuff. POE lets you make mistakes too much basically. It's convoluted. And it's cheap with loot so it takes ages just to afford a test and half the time I go broke in the middle and can't really finish the test. If they just rewarded me for the time I grind I could actually try stuff. I hate that it's so hard to figure out that a few items with a few stats are worth so much more than others because some build uses them. I just wish each league had one special currency that gave one special mod and it would be so simple. Look at a league list done. You know how to craft. You want white sockets get this currency from this league mechanic. You want plus gems mod get it from another league mechanic. There's enough league mechanics they could give us all the moding items needed to make the great gear we want and feel like we accomplished something. Make jewels simpler to mod. It's gearing it shouldn't be half the game imo. Let us get it done and then let us push what we can do with it like they say in Diablo. Challenge me with maps that i can blow up but still die if I react too slow. But crush if I'm focused. But as I think many realize Chris is too focused on his own vision and is just not taking input as much as he should. It's his game at the end of the day but would be nice if a creator thought more from the player's point of view. But he's scared to change something that's working enough and paying the bills. I think adding trade options and mail and auction house and so many things would make the game so much better. They make excuses for not doing it but it's just fear imo. They keep making minor changes like the changes to drop rate and stats but never changing anything major. Never add new game functions. It's just the same bs over and over. And it seems like 2.0 will be the exact same game lol. They have a system where they can really try new things like an auction house and delete it after a league if it doesn't work out but they won't even take that risk. Just chicken shiits imo.

  11. if i want to gamble for a weapon that does what i want, i'll open genshin impact. if i want to beat a specific boss to get a chance at a specific weapon that does the specific thing i know i want–i used to play path of exile. that's becoming less and less true with every update and im very worried. i dont think they understand what 'chase unique' actually means and they keep changing things based on their definition and like. no. chase uniques are uniques you know you Will get from a certain source, if you try long enough, not a good unique that you might or might not ever even see

  12. also also //looks pointedly at your bisexual lighting// im almost less concerned about the problems in the manifesto than the flavor of some of the comments underneath it. im used to not being wanted in gaming spaces, thats a consequence of having the Gall to be a girl in online games. but some of the things in those comments were less the standard ew girls and more… pointed than that? im not sure i can keep playing this game and feel good about it if a sizeable chunk of the playerbase is made up of bigots. you know?

  13. 8:35 that's a moot point. we all know how fast poe players figure things out, and after figuring out it will provide a better source for those players.

so yeah, initially it wont be great, but in the long run its making those builds easier to get going.
