I’ve seen some discussion going on, specifically regarding the setting for the upcoming pokemon title, Pokemon Legends Z-A. Basically, the whole game is going to take place entirely in Lumiose city, which has caused some concern. Let’s talk about it.

I am ready for Pokemon's Kamurocho.
My guess City will be huge and you'll have different areas you can go outside to catch and challenge certain Pokemon don't forget there's boats trains and flying Taxi that can bring you to other hubs and or League area and the gym training will probably be like Arena based like it was in sword and shield
a giant jubilife and some wild areas is all you need.
Imagine the POLISH of such a small scope with an extra year of dev time!
Pokémon fans: " they're just making the same bad game!"
Also pokémon fans: "why game different?!"
This game will be fine. With how little time the developers get to make each game, and the amount of content they are expected to produce, they have been prioritizing developing different areas in each release. S/V was focused on developing their open world-building, at the cost of empty, lifeless cities. Now they are trying to focus on getting better at making urban environments.
Everybody is just asking for more, but there are actual people making these games under a tight corporate stranglehold. Instead of complaining, I promise you are not "holding them accountable" and you're not "just looking out for the future of the franchise", just go play the games you do enjoy, give a consenting person a hug, and have a good day
I'm sure this game will have a lot of the old things, some cool new stuff, and more than a few shortcomings in return and that's fine
Holy shit we literally haven't even seen a real trailer yet, fucking chill
AZs Floette is a super boss in the game, 12 phases, and a terrifying desperation move, lol. Looking forward to seeing what this game feels like to play.
Imagine a Pokemon GTA like game 😂
I am certainly NOT worried I got lost in the original games this will be 10x worse 😭
I think it would be weird if we didn't get access to the power plant. After all, its directly tied to how Lumiose functions as a city and it would be a shame to lose out on that free real estate that's just sitting there from the originals
Initially I went full apathy after I heard that the entire game would take place in Lumiose, but we still dont have enough info so I guess I will remain cautiosly neutral for now.
It cant just be Lumiose it must be other areas like the wild and the story cant just happend in the city since that would not make any sense and that would limit the story very much and the legendarys in the game cant just be in the city so there is 100% a bigger area then just the city.
I think to get some mega stones you need to go out in the wild and hunt for them or find them in diffrent places on the map like in caves or other places
It being entirely set in one place could finally give us more slice of life stuff we see in the anime
If it really happens like that, I just think it's a bit of a shame because I really like the environments of Kalos.
I just hope that Nintendo and Game Freak listen to fans and give this game all the dev time it needs.
Wasn’t Jubilife the only city we visited in PLA? I’m pretty sure that’s what they’re getting at with that tweet.
I'm not worried personally. The map of Lumiose city in the trailer was way bigger and more detailed than what we could explore in XY.
Gamefreak can barely make a 3d town let alone a whole city
I honestly think the idea of a Pokémon game set entirely within a large city is a cool idea. I was initially a bit disappointed to learn that, but I can see potential in the idea. I think my closest comparison is something like Ys 9, tho I havent played that game yet, so I don't know specifics about it, but that's generally what I picture in my head (Just, y'know, Pokémon instead).
No we shouldn’t be worried. What they need to focus on is battle mechanics, battle animations and creating a living world. If the sprawling gigantic world is boring and stale why create it? Let’s just hope it’s an amazing city.
Very lame. Gamefreak are extremely lazy. Pokemon is dead.
Didn't Legends Arceus basically take place in one city? Obviously you could go other places but there was only one town to visit.
I actually feel like itll be a step in the right direction. (From other switch pokemon games) making each building/section feel important will be massive for returning to form for pokemon. Imagine this. Sprawling under city labyrinths, Jumping from roof to roof. Forest Dungeons, Desert Dungeons, The possibility for improvement is right under our fingertips. The concept just sounds so perfect. Having new megas also leads to bonus story opportunities PLA couldnt have
If someone wants a direct comparision, think of the City being in the Scale of the Cities that you see in the Pkmn Anime. They are a whole lot larger than in the game lmao
I'm personally very excited to know more about it!
If we get an arceus legends style game again 😢
I think that a Pokemon game based only in one large city sounds pretty awesome! Its different, at least. I mean think of YS IX, that is in a city, and that game is great!.
Arceus had only one village so I imagine this will be similar. I get being concerned back then but now? Doesnt make sense.
Come on you're better then this, you know darn well it's to early to be speculating on these matters. Shame on you
Agreed.
Lets just wait for official GF announcements.
I'm really excited though to explore Kalos again.
Hoping we have roller blades again for faster travel.
Should we be stressed? No, but given pokemon companies track record of under cooking their games and tiny/lackluste ity design. It is fair to be skeptical. I hope they make a great title, but I am not optimistic.
i mean, so did legends arceus
Im not worried. I gave up lol. All pokemon games are just so uninspired
Personally, I'm looking forward to two things:
Kalosian forms
New Megas (…Hopefully?)
