I suppose I don't know if it's more realistic to burn fewer calories quickly running somewhere than walking there.

What I do is constantly ping pong between 76 and 84. I alternate between high hunger, low cal food and low hunger, high cal food. The former is mostly canned food, although candy is super effective. The latter is peanut butter, oil, ketchup… The trick is, when trying to gain weight, to not binge only on high cal food but to alternate medium cal food (like chips), because high cal food is not very common and it's better to ration it.
It's pretty annoying to have to manage weight that much. I hope they make it less tedious in a future update.

triple idle for excercise? haha. So strenuous excercise uses significantly less energy than walking!
