All About Weight & Calories in Project Zomboid's Nutrition

Character weight is a deadly puzzle that this video will help you solve. And once you have a handle on it, you can exploit overweight and underweight character traits to get even more points in character creation.

Combat factors into this as well, as different weapons can actually affect your calorie burn (which in turn affects your weight).

Scrub around the chapters for more hidden weight, nutrition, and calorie facts.

  1. I suppose I don't know if it's more realistic to burn fewer calories quickly running somewhere than walking there.

But that just reminds me of the massive wars in the CDDA subreddit over realism vs gameplay, and now my brain is hurting.

  2. What I do is constantly ping pong between 76 and 84. I alternate between high hunger, low cal food and low hunger, high cal food. The former is mostly canned food, although candy is super effective. The latter is peanut butter, oil, ketchup… The trick is, when trying to gain weight, to not binge only on high cal food but to alternate medium cal food (like chips), because high cal food is not very common and it's better to ration it.

It's pretty annoying to have to manage weight that much. I hope they make it less tedious in a future update.
