We have faster, tougher ships, with better weapons and armor. But after the war we reverse engineer their stuff because they have faster ships with better weapons? Humanity remembers those who gave their lives in the war. WHAT WAR!?!? It was a battle at best. and apparently we had such a tech advantage we curb stomped them without effort. Other than the captain who did we lose? And why in the world would a Navy captain leave his ship during a battle to lead an assault force? Presumably he hasn't picked up a rifle since basic training or done CQB for anything other than exercise. Shouldn't it have been "hey commander of my marine detachment. Go do this while I fight this space battle." Someone needs to be a little more selective in the stories they narrate. 😞😭😢
Ship commanders only leave their ships in time of war feet first with a sheet over them. He would have a Lt. Commander take command of the force to stop that doomsday weapon. Or a Marine Major.
