Angelic Weapons. The agathinon’s weapon attacks are magical. When the agathinon hits with any weapon, the weapon deals an extra 4d8 radiant damage (included in the attack).

Divine Awareness. The agathinon knows if it hears a lie.

Innate Spellcasting. The agathinon’s spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 18). The agathinon can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components: At will: detect evil and good, cure wounds (5th level); 3/day each: dispel evil and good, flame strike; 1/day each: commune, raise dead

Magic Resistance. The agathinon has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Shape-Shifting. The agathinon can use an action to polymorph into a humanoid, beast, or object with a challenge rating equal to or less than its own, or back into its true form. It reverts to its true form if it dies. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying is absorbed or borne by the new form (the agathinon’s choice). In a new form, the agathinon retains its game statistics and ability to speak, but its AC, movement modes, Strength, Dexterity, and special senses are replaced by those of the new form, and it gains any statistics and capabilities (except class features, legendary actions, and lair actions) that the new form has but that it lacks.

Turn Undead. As an action, the agathinon can present its holy symbol and speak a prayer censuring the undead. Each undead that can see or hear the agathinon within 30 feet of it must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 18). If the creature fails its saving throw, it is turned for 1 minute or until it takes any damage. A turned creature must spend its turns trying to move as far away from the agathinon as it can, and it can’t willingly move to a space within 30 feet of the agathinon. It also can’t take reactions. For its action, it can use only the Dash action or try to escape from an effect that prevents it from moving. If there’s nowhere to move, the creature can use the Dodge action.

Etherealness. The agathinon can enter the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane, or vice versa, at will.

Actions
Multiattack. The agathinon makes two melee attacks.
Mace. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage plus 18 (4d8) radiant damage.
Healing Touch (3/Day). The agathinon touches another creature. The target magically regains 30 (6d8 + 3) hit points and is freed from any curse, disease, poison, blindness, or deafness.

  1. It's a big difference hearing the voice from these mobile game ads (loud, ugly, and obnoxious), to hearing AJs calm voice. It's such a difference.
The Watcher of Realms ads are too obnoxious I can't listen to it. Add to an already crap game. It's a disaster.

  2. One of the things that I think has really improved your videos over the years is your transition from fairly dry analysis to information delivered through a well crafted narrative. Keep on keeping on, Picaroon. 👌

  3. Glad that the Dragon/Halflngs adventures continues. Such a rich character. Be great to incorporate him into a novel as a contributor to an adventure. Would enhance his recognition to the masses.

  4. This was very cool! We don't see celestial beings on your channel very often, but I'm always fascinated by them, AJ. I especially like how they can "become items" so to speak, such as becoming a sentient mace or something. I wonder if it is considered rude to wield an angel as a melee weapon?

  5. With the ability to turn into inanimate objects, I doubt it would be above a Agathinon to turn themselves into a holy weapon in service of a good-aligned warrior. Perhaps unbeknownst to the wielder, only transforming back when the situation is most dire.

  6. AJ, I just had a crazy brainwave provider revolving around the Celestials in Cania!

The reason there are celestials trapped in the ice there, and that they are battling insectoid enemies is because it was a battle ground during the demon war with the Obyriths. The hell layer of Cania was once part of the planes of law, and it came under attack from the demons, for chaos. During the battle, the forces of Asmodeus fought to recover it for law,and they did, but during their battle and occupation, they also made it fall to evil. Hence why it became part of the nine hells. And those insectoids could be Ecoliths or a relative like serving Oboxob in Zionin.

An interview between Picaroon the Sage and a recently reawakened Celestia formerly frozen in Cania but revived in Mephistar could be a fascinating exercises to frame one of your upcoming videos.

    What do you think?

  7. I agree with many others here. Love this blend of story and crunchy stats/ecology. My fav part of your work is exploration of specific areas in faerun. So i really enjoyed the glimpse into the moonshaes. Ever considered an indepth look at the moonsea area? It is a part of the realms that is close to my heart after many adventures there. Keep up the good work AJ. Chur ✌️

  8. Love the content, and I've been catching up on YT, but do you have another channel? I feel like you have mentioned vids from over a year ago that never pop up in your 500+ vid playlist.
