IndiGo beats Air India to the largest aircraft order in history, orders 500 aircraft of Airbus A320 family
India’s largest airline by market share IndiGo on June 19 placed the largest-ever order for aircraft in aviation history by placing a firm order for 500 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. The airline will take delivery of these new aircraft between 2030 and 2035 with the order estimated to be worth around $50 billion on list price. The current order comprises a mix of A320 neo, A321 neo, and A321 xlr aircraft.
