  1. I will say, all that makes a game part of any goven generation is the period of time it was released. BDSP was released during the 8th generation of Pokémon, so its a Gen 8 game. Same reason ORAS is Gen 6 and HGSS is Gen 4.
Also, tbf, LGPE had the Alolan forms available via in-game trades.

  2. This is why the Switch has nothing. Not only was it a complete 3D copypaste of Gen 4 with especially very small expansions, its the HIGHEST-SELLING remake of all the previous remakes. This is why i also dread how boring gen 5 will be

  3. I would like to say one thing. Dlc can go straight to hell and burn for all of eternity. Digital content is going to be a problem when people realise how crap it is. I'll never defend digital content, if a game is released with the new content on the card/disc awesome but it's common for it to be a code.

  4. 2:20 THANK YOU! I have gone from being indifferent about gen 5 to just hating it because holy hell do people over rate those games so much. I didn't care much for the region and there's like…3 pokemon I actually care about? The story is no where near as good as they say it is either. It just seems good compared to other pokemon games. Mean while other titles like nexomon actually do have great stories.
Speaking of trying to get these people to play nexomon is incredibly annoying because IT'S LITERALLY WHAT THEY WANT but they won't play it because it's not pokemon.

  5. BDSP made me feel like I was a old man just off of how the game played, and I didn’t even buy the game.

I’m not some old fool who needs to be hand held throughout the entire game, Pokémon diamond, pearl and platinum or some of the hardest, Pokémon games I have ever played and hell do it like that again, make this sucker harder than platinum was, I damn near gave up playing platinum for how hard it was, I want to relive that again, let me go do that again.

  6. I'm still positive that BDSP were an afterthought. They originally intended to remake Gen 4 to be on par with gen 8 (like all part teenagers did with their respective modern generations) but as they did they realized that to do that they would have to completely rework all the routes, towns and environments so they now made sense in a 3D world from a 3rd person perspective.

They then decided of it was Sinnoh at a different point in history, then ask they needed to keep was the basic geography, then they could make everything from the ground up.

They then however felt that fans would be disappointed say not getting a true remake like in the past, so they concerned a third party company to make the most bare bones carbon copy possible.

In my opinion they should have made and released legends first, then use it's bones to make a true 3D remake of diamond and pearl after.

  7. As someone who can't buy a dozen copies of gen 4 carts rn, I love bdsp. I love the art style and I love how on switch, I can play sinnoh as many times as I want and with any/as many pokemon I want without losing save files. Do I wish it had gotten more of the oras treatment? Do I wish it had full nat dex and megas? Yes. But sinnoh is SUCH. A good region and the sinnoh games such jam packed games already, that I can be content. Its a shame that the community wanted exactly what they got, that so many said in previous years that oras was too different and boring, that now we're asking that if fifth generation has to happen then we want it exact. Its a shame that so many veteran players said " I want a gen 4 remake" and GOT it and said it was boring because they already played gen 4. What did you expect? If you didn't like gen 4's super jrpg style and features before, why would you like them in a remake? If you didn't play the absolute heck out of gen 4 before this, what did you expect to get out of it? I for one loved the mini throwback era we had of all the marketing being sinnoh and everyone being excited for sinnoh, and now I have sinnoh games I can play over and over without losing anything forever going forward. The pokemon company once upon a time wanted sinnoh to be the ultimate pokemon games. I think they succeeded, and now we have that on switch, a far more accessible and flexible console these days. Now tons of kids get to play one of the mythical early regions, almost exactly like it was back in the day instead of as a remake that "isn't really" the region. Which i would have loved as a kid. I did love the remakes as a kid, gen 4 was my first, and the remakes did feel weird because they weren't the games everyone was talking about as so mythical. Tldr I love bdsp and in five years the community will agree with me just as it eventually agreed that gen 4 and 5 were "actually good". We wanted a return to classic style, we got it. And the community got mad about it. But I'm not the community, I'm a lurking individual over here happily playing more sinnoh.

  8. 100% BDSP is one of the worst Pokémon games on the switch… all they had to do was pull in omega, ruby and alpha sapphire and give the starters mega evolutions… but they couldn’t do that because I bet some higher boss told them to rush it for money…(quantity over quality)

  9. I agree that Let’s Go where the games where they stopped filling the games with extra content, but I disagree that it’s not the best way to play Kanto. Let’s go has the best visuals in the series, a great score, mega evolutions, gym leader rematches, a difficult post game, Pokémon following you, rideable Pokémon, overworld shinies and is the easiest game to shiny hunt in. I think they’re great games, just not the best Pokémon games.

  10. The problem w/ BDSP is that Pokemon fans already know what a Pokemon remake filled w/ Heart and Soul looks like thanks to HeartGold and SoulSilver. Having played the original and remake of 4th Gen, I didn't feel like I got that different of an experience. On the other hand, HGSS were fantastic and ORAS was good too! I think that for now, Nintendo should put a pause on Pokemon game remakes.

  11. I remember a guy doing the remake of gen 4 using Unity, way before these remakes were announced.

I think his version was actually better looking than these games

  12. I liked the additions to the underground but hated how it came at the cost of things like making your own secret base or the capture the flag minigames. Plus, it also drew more attention to how limited the d/p dex was because you'd have access to things like togekiss while many of the trainers you fight had like 3 buizels or geodudes on their team. Another problem was that they didn't take evolution items into account so you'd still have to wait to evolve certain pokemon until the postgame despite catching them during the main story. While I didn't like that all the characters didn't recieve a refresh I can understand why the playable characters didn't as they did get new designs for legends (although that's still not great). Even the gym puzzles could've done with a refresh as some of the d/p ones were erm…lacklustre (looking at you hearthome gym).

  13. BDSP felt like the least ambitious Pokemon games, it’s like they wanted PLA to be the main Sinnoh title but still wanted a traditional remake, so they decide make two near perfect recreations of two flawed games, I will never understand that decision.

  14. Having played Brilliant Diamon my self, I'd say my biggest issue was how little new their was compared to past remakes. Granted, games like Soul Silver and Omega Ruby were also my first time in those regions, but compared to Johto getting an updated Pokedex and new events and Omega Ruby getting new events and Mega Evolutions, Brilliant Diamond was the one Pokemon game that really made me not want to grind out any specific Pokemon in it (basically done once I beaten the game). The only parts I do like was bring back old events and giving us the ability to get a legit Shiny Arceus (which I did get).

  15. Still early in my play through but so far bd is waay better than sword imo. I felt like I had to beat sword but had zero enjoyment my entire play through. Diamond just feels like a pokemon game, and sword felt like a cash grab. Disclaimer sword was a Christmas gift and Diamond I got on sale for 35. So if I paid full price I would definitely be disappointed in both lol
