  1. begging you to watch nightmare time there's so many references to it in this and there's so much lore!!!!! "potentially canon" IT IS SO CANON /SRS. "you kinda look like that homeless guy from downtown" THIS IS SAD WITH CONTEXT IF YOU WATCH TIME BASTARD!!!! also!!!!! pete is ted's brother!!!!!! from tgwdlm!!!!!!! WHEN TINKY (YELLOW LORD IN BLACK) SAYS "ANOTHER SPANKOFFSKI" HE'S TALKING ABOUT TED!!!!!!!! the people in hatchet town are nightmare time characters!!!!!!!!! there is so much lore with the lords in black and the black book and everything else!!!!!!!!! there's an episode about pete and grace and steph (abstinence camp)!!!! season 2 is a lot better quality than season 1 and you get used to the zoom format after watching for it a bit. and if not you can just listen to it like a podcast idk. i am so neurodivergent about hatchetfield i could infodump for so long. if people watch nightmare time there'll be a season 3 eventually and it is going to be so cool!!!!!!! both seasons of nightmare time have an episode about hannah from black friday!!!!!!!! also in honey queen linda monroe raps

also. for clarification every hatchetfield story is a separate timeline (besides nightmare time season 2, that's all the same timeline)

  2. I would give anything to do a production of this musical if they ever do licensing but the tragedy is Im a girl and would wanna play Max SO FREAKING BAD MAN. Like I would be anyone but Max I just feel is one of those roles that would feel incredible to play

  5. if you end up watching nightmare time (which I highly recommend, since it has super interesting stories and goes into the very cool lore nick and matt have for hatchetfield – I mean, my favorite hatchetfield character is only featured in nightmare time!) I would looove to see a reaction for it!

  6. I've been obsessively looking for NPMD reactions just so I can experience that first watch-experience again lmao. Highly recommend Nightmare Time (they're not really in any order as they're standalone stories, so if you can't get into one you can just pick another!)

Also, I think Jeff Blim had a scheduling conflict, that's why he's only edited in as the man in a hurry. I actually thought Max was a very Jeff Blim coded character, but Will absolutely smashed it too!!!

  7. From what I have seen, the each story of the series is taking part in an alternative reality, controlled by the 5 lords in black. They have the power to control reality and make different realities to feed their needs. As long as the black book exists, they have a connection to that reality.

  8. I was lucky enough to see this live, and one little detail that didn't make it into the recording was during Literal Monster, Max's football buddies came down the aisles and randomly shouted at people in the audience. It was awesome!

  9. I favorite fun-fact is that Steph isn't actually a crypto bro. Mariah said on twitter that Mayor Lauter converts her allowance to crypto because he just hates her that much.
In another tweet, Mariah also said that a reason Steph was so worried about her phone getting smashed was because all of the pictures she has with her mom are on there. Her dead mom.

  10. The theme that plays at 2:30:55 (of this video) when they dig up the book is actually not one of Wiggly's musical themes but Pokey's. You first hear the theme in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals when Alice is singing "Not Your Seed". It's the line "Look what happens, Nightmare Time" and is sort of now the reveal theme for anything dealing with the Lords in Black and their lore.

Nick Lang revealed this next bit in a live stream but it was canonized in Nightmare Time: Pokey is Pokotho and is revealed in Nightmare Time to be the Lord in Black responsible for the events of The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals.

In this musical, Pokey is played by Corey and he's the blue Lord furthest on the left ("Don't frighten them, Pokey, you nasty boy!"). That's why he sings "what do you want, Steph," because that is also one of the musical themes associated with him. That's also why everyone turns blue when they are infected in TGWDLM.

  11. You NEED to watch nightmare time, it gives a lot of depth to the hatchetfield lore and even features some of the characters in nerdy prudes. Theres a whole episode with Grace, Pete and Stephanie. It also gives a lot more information on the lords in black. And theres this huge lore around Hannah and Lex from black friday thats in one of the last episodes that explains a lot about not only hannah but lex as well. And we meet amazing characters like Mrs Halloway and Ziggy (who featured in hatchet town), and even Gerald who you know from black friday theres a whole episode of nightmare time we get to see him and linda and their kids lol. OH AND THE BIGGEST TWIST IS FINDING OUT WHO THE HOMELESS GUY IS!!!!! Also is the introduction of the black book that they use here.

Anyway quick description of the lords in black!
Wiggly: we know who he is from black friday, so ill keep it simple. Basically is the self appointed leader of the lords in black. Also why if you look at his outfit he is the jock with a crown. He also has tentacles in his true form which is why he keeps doing the little hand movements to symbolize it lmao. Jon absolutely goes feral when he becomes wiggly and its soooo good.
Pokey/Pokotho: Is the being behind the meteor/the events of the guy who didn't like musicals. He is all about control. Anytime you see any blue goo its related to pokey as thats his color. He is represented as a theater kid because thats what started off the whole event of the guy who didnt like musicals, a meteor hit the starlight theater which is one of the locations of the black altars grace mentions, and they all start singing a musical, thus pokey is a theater kid. After watching nightmare time i'd say pokotho is actually really freaking terrifying, especially in the last episode Yellow Jacket.
Blinky/Bliklotep: The one who sees all. The way i like to interpret this outfit/stereotype is being someone whos kind of maybe a loner/antisocial person who wears dark clothes but sees everything. The glasses are obviously bringing home the point that blinky sees all. Blinky is a giant eyeball in most forms. He likes to cause mayhem and watch.
TInky/T'noy Karaxis: is one of the wildest lords, trust me, he's a bastard. He is represented by someone perhaps whos a class clown because he is a menace. He is all about fucking with people using time itself. He is probably the "craziest" lord in black right up there with nibbly.
Nibbly/Nibblelinephym: The hungriest of the lords in black. The whole thing about nibbly is that its just supposed to be a giant, hungry mouth. So the design they chose for this is marvelous and the way Kim whalen does the little mouth expressions to represent nibbly is just so great.

These are the episodes of nightmare time that are like "about" the lords in black, and thats not to say they aren't in the other ones these are just the prominent episodes where they are the most:
    Blinky – Watcher World
    Tinky – Time Bastard
    Nibbly – Honey Queen
    Pokey – Yellow Jacket
Wiggly – Witch in the web i would say although its more about hannah and the witch then wiggly himself but he does appear!

  12. Fun fact I heard that idk if its true or not but im glad if it is true. The part where max goes for the bullet was apparently supposed to be Max going like "ch ch-ha ha ha" like friday the 13th but will the guy who plays max did the slow mo walk beatbox to the bullet instead and it just worked. Its such a good part because its basically a hamilton reference. Not one but two hamilton references in this musical. 10/10.

  13. since each musical is kind of one timeline/different universe, its unlikely we'll ever see the aftermath of grace's getting a hold of the black book and if they do well dang i guess id be wrong. In each timeline some big event happens involving one of the lords in black.
TGWDLM: Pokotho/Pokey and the meteor taking control of everyone
Black Friday: Wgog wgog y'rath/wiggly would just be the doll itself starting everything and taking control of everyone
NPMD: Not really started by the lords in black themselves, but by their followers the waylons who were given power somehow by the lords in black probably through sacrifice.
some other notable timelines happen in nightmare time, forever and always is a crazy one, time bastard, honey queen, and killer track are good ones that kind of go into differing timelines/the lore behind the dark magic.

  14. Thank you! I love watching reactions to my favorite shows! I think nightmare time would provide more clarity around the Lords in Black but I'm glad it still played without that background. Any Starkid or TCB reactions I'm here for!
