Abandoned Tracks: Riverview Speedway (Mini-Bristol)

For almost 20 years ole Riverview Speedway operated and hosted dirt and paved racing. However, a revolving door with ownership, multiple reconfigurations, and a location that wasn’t the most ideal led to the track’s closure after 2011.

  1. Dude i have raced on this track in two different forms, i started on the track when it was an 1/8th mile dirt track running micro sprints, theb roughly 7 years later i raced a late model on the "mini bristol" track, in the spring time we would average like 98 mph…….it was a fast track…….also after the dirt track they just paved the 1/8th mile track so it was actually a paced 1/8th mile track then to the mini bristol layout…..they used gps and whatnot to design the track and build it and the goal was to make each end identical to each other………by looks they succeeded but in thebrace car the two emds couldnt have felt more different really, there was a big dip coming outta turn two and the front steetch felt like it was twoce as wide as the back stretch lol……..also in those tobacco fields surrounding the track ive never seen so many indian artifacts anywhere ever………when we raced the micro sprints when i was a kid my dad was one of those who had to be the first there and last to leave and i would arrow head hunt every saturday with a track worker, he would find enough to fill a show box like every couple of weeks and i woukd find a couple or so every week……..that 1/4mile track was a hell of an adrenaline rush tho i wish i wouldnt have failed cuz it put on a great show, it would def put on a good nascar race, much better than what they do for the clash now

  2. That is a seriously cool looking venue. It's sad that in order to be remembered as a forgotten track you usually have to have hosted some sort of major event from the time. So many interesting places are forgotten despite being seriously unique. Looks like the ideal place for another YouTuber to purchase, and for $600,000, that's probably not a tall order for many

  3. I visited that track during the pandemic. It was long abandoned at that point. I was able to get my motorcycle on the track and take a few laps. Really cool track, wish it was still running.

  4. It could definitely be a popular track again. I know there’s at least a good 50+ of my friends in Nashville that would make the trip for some racing there. We’ve all made our way out there at one point or another to explore it in its abandoned state.

  5. Their a famous abandoned dirt track about a mile from my house called Kentucky lake speedway. That has very interesting history between owners being force out by the state. So the state could build a highway and after they took what they wanted to use of the land they give it back to the owner and said it his problem now. It about 2 hours north west of Nashville. It sits on i24. It all still sitting there. It pretty amazing.

  6. I feel if there was some landscaping in the area on tallylirs branch there wiggling along the back stretch and buy out the farmer with the field along the drive it could be lengthened just a little and would have plenty of parking but the question would be if there could be hotels close enough lol but looks like it could be an awesome race track to race in my opinion
