99% of City Turns Zombie in 24 Hours, Company's Dark Secret Changes Everything

The *Resident Evil* film series, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, is a high-octane action-horror franchise inspired by Capcom’s popular video game series. Spanning six films released between 2002 and 2016, the series has grossed over $1.2 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film series based on a video game.

The narrative centers on Alice, portrayed by Milla Jovovich, an original character created for the films. Alice battles the nefarious Umbrella Corporation, whose bioweapons have unleashed a global zombie apocalypse. Throughout the series, Alice uncovers her mysterious past and connection to Umbrella, all while confronting increasingly deadly threats.

The films are known for their intense action sequences, special effects, and a storyline that diverges from the original video games, creating an alternate timeline with unique characters and plot developments.

For viewers interested in watching the series in order, the films are:

1. *Resident Evil* (2002)
2. *Resident Evil: Apocalypse* (2004)
3. *Resident Evil: Extinction* (2007)
4. *Resident Evil: Afterlife* (2010)
5. *Resident Evil: Retribution* (2012)
6. *Resident Evil: The Final Chapter* (2016)

In 2021, a reboot titled *Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City* was released, aiming to more closely align with the storyline of the original video games.

The *Resident Evil* film series has been a significant contributor to the popularity of video game adaptations in cinema, influencing subsequent productions in the genre.

  1. Been a long time since I first watched the original movie. I know I missed the last two but I seem to only remember 1, 3 &4.
I guess by #6 they kinda gave up on trying to stick to the original story 🤷🏻‍♀️
