  1. Huge Liverpool fan I was 18 at the time and don't remember much about this game I guess I must have somehow near erased it out of my memory I wonder why! Fascinating documentary tho that's helped fill in the blanks! Loved football infinitely more in this period than today.

  2. I'm a Palace fan, but Arsenal are my second team, so that season, l went to see the Gunners play Millwall, Forest, and Charlton at home, and Southampton and Millwall away. So, saw no home wins, but 100% away. That sums up that season.

  4. Wonderful documentary, goose-pimples. I must have seen the dying moments of the game and Micky Thomas's goal a hundred times through the years and I'm still worried the ref will blow up for full-time or that Micky will be caught on the ball as he shapes to make the decisive shot.
Brings tears to my eyes. Legends all.

  7. The parade to the town hall that year is still to this day the best party Iโ€™ve ever been to, Iโ€™m 51. Went to most games that season. Remember getting crushed at West Ham against one of those metal barriers and my mate saving my life ~ when I saw Hillsborough it sent a shiver through me, still does. I watched the Liverpool game in a Snooker hall of all places. Get goose bumps all over my body watching that goal. Best summer of my life – Acid House parties and Arsenal winning the league. This year Iโ€™ve indoctrinated my 5 year old into being a Gooner – feels great, best club in the f***** world.

  8. So many memories of this game, sitting at home with my dad watching the game. it has got to be my greatest moment supporting the arsenal, greater than the 'invincibles' simply because it all happened in one game, not over a whole season. '89 what a year !!

  9. As a city fan I can say this is the greatest finish to a seasonโ€ฆ. In ALL of English football history

I wouldnโ€™t say 1/2, more like 1a/1b because of how dramatic cityโ€™s was but for arsenal to win in that fashionโ€ฆ no better story written

  10. Even as a Liverpool fan i loved that. Broke my heart as a nipper but is a truly classic ending to the season. Some nice words from the boys about Hillsborough too. And nice that Rocky is remembered also. Great doc.

  11. Even in these days, someone had a member of his family who as a Spurds fan went through bitter pain watching Arsenal lift a trophy ๐Ÿ†. Always in our shadow ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  12. Horrible experience for us obviously. I remember feeling so guilty that I was so upset afterwards given what had happened at Hillsborough. I was 18 and wept like a child for about an hour. It just felt so cruel. I felt so selfish at being upset over a dumb game of football when we had lost so many people. I still feel that way now watching this, so many conflicting emotions. Football can be funny that way, being the most important of the unimportant things. Arsenal were a good side though and deserved champs.
