PWI wrestler of the year 1997. His feuds with Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, and Rey Mysterio jr were awesome, banger after banger for the Cruiserweight title. "Growing up, my number one guy, always was Dean Malenko." – Bryan Danielson

Bret hart had beef with him eric remember ?
What I always found mildly hilarious is that Dean was so divisive for having the same character type as Goldberg. Meh promos. All business. What Dean didn’t have was the body to satisfy the Eric’s of the world to do anything else but the character was so over in WCW there was no reason to change it. He would play the foil to someone flamboyant. It worked. In a lot of ways he was typecast for doing what worked and by the time he was in WWE he was at the end of his career.
Dean was as exciting as watching paint dry. Good wrestler but just a snooze personality.
Dean unmasking with jericho biggest pop and 1 of the best wcw moments
Dean malenko Was time filler. Not saying he wasn’t cool or a good guy but cmon
I am new to listening to This podcast and this is my first episode watching in the same days to was posted and I have been watching a bunch of older episodes and a bunch of newer one and Eric is so entertaining to listen to
I listen to most of Conrad’s podcasts BUT I keep finding myself gravitating back to this one , ERIC! It was fking daylight!
Imagine if Malenko had been only 6 inches taller.
Benoit wrestled as Wild Pegasus, Guerrero was Black Tiger in New Japan
As an aside, Todd Heap retired from the NFL after 12 seasons, 10 spent with the Baltimore Ravens. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Heap
I like that funky bass intro. Looking forward to this session.
No one cares but as a kid and still to this day Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman are my favorite tag team of all time. I know that Conrad & most people will never give them the credit they deserve. They were a great team but they were just underutilized.
