Today I’m flying for the next 40 hours from Sydney Australia all the way across the world to London in the United Kingdom. The entire trip will be in First Class in three different products, from Qantas and Emirates on their A380s and 777. I’ll explore everything on offer from the fine dining, in flight bed, bathrooms (one even has a shower!) and what’s more I’m bringing my Mum along for the trip. She’s never flown in First Class before so I can’t wait to share the experience together. On the ground we’ll take an in-depth look at the various airport lounges some luxurious and some… not so much. I’ll also explain exactly how much I paid for this trip and how you can save money on your next flight using a similar method. As usual let me know what you think to the experience and also what you’d like to see next on the channel.

  1. When you said it would take 25 minutes to go 10 miles, I thought you were in LA for a moment. Then I realized that was a silly thought as it would take more like 45 minutes to go 10 miles in LA. 😄

  2. I've flown Emirates' A380 & 777 from JFK to Dubai and then Seychelles and from JFK to Dubai and then Maldives. I also used them to fly to Thailand. I used Business Class. I personally don't feel the need to spend so much to fly on their First Class, but I could see how it might be a bucket list item. The Maybach-like seats, mini bar and dining-on-demand are fabulous. Their lounge is amazing.

I got to the Dubai business lounge at 3AM from Maldives and had 5 hours layover. Used the toilet for like 30 minutes followed by a nice long leisurely shower for 40 minutes. Then I wined and dined on their breakfast/brunch while on my computer. That 5 hours melted away.

One thing is certain: Quantas' A380 is not as nice.

  3. On the A380 Emirates bar, I was only interested in taking a photograph.
Didn't really want to sit back there or hang around the bathroom. The business class seat and first class seat are so comfortable, I didn't feel as much need to be out of my seat. In Economy however, you'll definitely wish you could use that space.

  4. The A380 is probably the most comfortable ECONOMY CLASS experience there currently is.

But it's so sad that everyone can't experience the spaciousness and comfort of Business Class.

That's why I'm happy that many airlines are ditching First Class – because the services are too expensive – and going with Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy instead. Hopefully, someday, everyone will have the business class experience.
