  1. Now then Young James. For all round charging options try this. Victron EasySolar-II GX. It also means you can add a shore power option which can be supplied from the Delta or Shorepower. Im no expert but maybe worth a look see.

  2. I've watched sailing videos for years and have seen them all go through this. Delos and Sailing Uma have set ups that really seem to work great. I think they may have playlists just regarding their power setup. This all makes me head spin. That Delta sure seems like a great company!

  3. Could fit an heat exchange filter system to your engine to heat your water?
Then your engine will heat yours water without using battery system. Probably may save you power drawn from battery system.

  4. So James I get that the Delta is great, but if you used a similar battery setup in the boat (lithium batteries) + suitable solar charging then would you not get the same result that you got with the Delta. Also if you spent £1500 on your current setup how much better would it be? I get that the Delta is portable and you can charge them while you drive about during the day or have them charging at some coffee shop.

I do however think that if someone spent £1500 extra they should be able to get a really nice setup on their boat.

  5. James! Your leisure batteries are knackered if you’ve run them down that low too many times. You also have them wired up wrong with + & – coming off the same battery. If your lights dim when you turn the taps on then the water pump is wired in wrong also, should have it’s own supply.

  6. Billy Petherick is powering a whole convent, well the repair (welding, power tools etc) of it at least, with his Delta kit, so it should be possible – maybe they will have some suggestions?

  7. Hot water, James? That's for softies.
Don't leave your leisure batteries at less than 12.2 volts. That's a sure way to bugger them up. Recharge them immediately, or you'll be buying a new set before Christmas.
I'd stop wasting power on those under-gunwale LEDs. They're just heating the air…
If the worst comes to the worst, get a Poundland head-torch and a pack of AAs. 🤣
    All the best, mate.

  8. All of this is over my head, lol 😂.
I grew up on a sailboat and never had to worry about any of this. Of course I didn’t know what produced the electrical, lol. I was very young.
Thank you for a great video
