  1. Great list!
Btw, Zhigang is 12 years older than BoXiang. He mentions it in H4 ep8.(I may or may not have watched the History series too many times.) Phayu should be 5 years older than Rain, since architecture is a 5 year program and Phayu was still in uni when Rain was in his final year of high school, but graduated before Rain got into uni. The interactions between Phayu and Pai convince me he is at most a year older than Phayu, so at most 6 years older than Sky.
I feel like a bad Japanese resident for not watching Pornographer. It has been in my list forever.
My Lascivious Boss might make me go learn Vietnamese, because I feel like I need that show in my life.

My fave couples from this list… Sky-Pai, Togawa (my serious chipmunk) and Nozue, Zhao Yun Lan and Shen Wei, RJ and Alex, Shin and Minato, Sato and Chen Bo Chun, Pei Shou Yi and Yu Zhen Xuan and Uncle and Milk. Hmmm, I always think of myself as not liking age gaps, but maybe I do…

  2. I am impressed with your list that you included not so common series. I love love Light and it doesn't get mention at all or very little if it does. I was also surprised you included Lascivious Boss. I have watched all but 2 of these since they aren't BLs. Thank you for a great list and hopefully more will give Light a chance. TFS.

I did like Cutie Pie, but I had some sort of block when it came to the character played by NuNew, it felt like he was so muddled and unclear like two characters smushed together instead of 1.Β

  4. Gurl, I completely forgot about BoXiang and Zhigang in HIStory 3. They lived happily ever after too. πŸ‘¨β€β€οΈβ€πŸ‘¨πŸ‘¨β€β€οΈβ€πŸ’‹β€πŸ‘¨πŸ‘¬

  5. I've watched all except Devil Judge. There is something about seeing them together that just turned me off from watching. You mentioned 180 Degrees which I don't consider a bl but probably in my top 10 of all "entertainment " I've watched in my 53 years! I absolutely hated that series! Bite Me had no chemistry between the main leads. The secondary couple was my favorite. Every History series is just great. I've only seen an edited version of Advance Bravely so there actually wasn't much of a "bl" to what I saw but there was chemistry and the story was good. I've mentioned before that I don't feel Tae Darvid has chemistry with any bl partner he's had so the relationship in Triage was a bust for me but the story saved the series. I think all of the Korean and Taiwanese series were good you mentioned. The Vietnamese one too. A couple of the Thai ones weren't great and a couple I'll never rewatch but the majority were good. I tried rewatching Cutie Pie before season 2 came out but even up to the proposal at Lian's father's birthday party Kuea still felt like he wasn't good enough for Lian and I just couldn't rewatch the series. Watching it last year week to week I never noticed how bad Kuea felt because of Lian but lian's treatment of him even though he loved him was a bit toxic. My only problem with History 3 is the main couple and their horrible storyline. I can't even watch the last episode.

  6. The funny thing about Love in the Air is that the uni students are both older than their businessman boyfriends! To be fair, Noeul is only a couple months older than Boss, but Peat is like 3 years older than Fort. (Unfortunately, it was pretty obvious that Fort was too young to play that role convincingly, at least for me.)

  9. BLFE Friend–I don't see any content creators covering this subject. To be very honest, the age gap theme is not something I am drawn to. I am a very open-minded individual but perhaps somewhat narrow-minded on this. However, when I see a series like 180 Degrees, and way before that Advance Bravely, I say tsk tsk to myself and remember to broaden my horizons. There are a few of these I haven't seen and the way you present the age gap subject makes me do some reconsidering and I will give you credit.

  10. So I had a BL moment today. I was walking around my local stationery shop looking for a notebook for my Thai language lessons and small scissors to replace the ones the TSA confiscated and I had a flashback to Star in My Mind and Love in the Air and I looked around for my cute University BL series boyfriend. BUT ALAS I WAS ON MY OWN LOL

  11. Bite Me could have been the best BL of 2021 if some actual care had been given to it. I mean, the soundtrack and the cinematography were incredible, but the story dragged and things made no sense at all. Why would Aek's mother object to him being a chef when she runs a restaurant and being a chef is a respected and well-paid position with opportunities to work pretty much anywhere in the world? What was with that confession scene? Not only did it come out of nowhere, Aek's reaction to it came out of nowhere and then, after an episode of weeping and running home, he comes back and just walks straight into Aue's arms like nothing ever happened? That little rant aside, most of these BL's are so good and I enjoyed the 19 that I have watched. Thanks for the video! πŸ™‚

  12. You forgot Beloved Enemy, History 5 and of course, The Untamed. In fact there are quite a few Taiwanese/Chinese BL/Bromance series/films with a significant age difference.
