Our adventure led us to the North Vietnam city of Sapa! Hidden high in the mountains, we’ll show you guys some of the best things to do in Sapa. Riding to the top of Fansipan mountain to trekking low to Hmong villages, this Sapa travel guide will show exactly how to best visit Sapa! A Sapa travel vlog.

Our first few days in Vietnam were off to a great start! The limousine ride from Hanoi was peachy smooth and we arrived to the enchanting Sapa with the warmest welcome. One of the best welcomes was walking into our $60/night luxury mountain view room from KK Sapa Hotel! We can’t recommend this hotel enough!

As much as we loved admiring the views of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range from our balcony, we had to make the journey up the highest elevation difference cable car in the world to reach the “roof of Indochina”: the summit of Fansipan Mountain. The 3,143m elevation was not felt lightly, but the adrenaline of the wind swaying us as we looked down into the valley kept our feet grounded.

Now that we’d seen Sapa from the highest point possible, it was time to venture low into the valleys. With a local motorbike ride and a walk down the main road, we made it to the Lao Chai Village: one of the region’s most charming villages. Amongst the terraced rice fields, we got to witness a world that was frozen in time. The women, men and children of the Hmong, Dao Do and Giay ethnic groups were lively and hard at work as we ventured their markets and the paths woven through their farmland.

Seeing their way of life amidst the idyllic landscape was enough to fall in love with Sapa and its many local peoples. Again, we were off to an amazing start in Vietnam!

  1. In August we are going to visit Sapa. This is the third visit in Vietnam. We had been longing for visiting Sapa but the covid thing happened. We waited for three years. Your video made me happy and made me want to visit there as soon as we can. What is the distance from Sapa to Lao cai village? How long did it take to get there by bike? When did you shoot your video? Sorry for asking you so many questions?
