I have always loved the stories of the Dwarves. It doesn't even matter which fictional setting your talking about. In middle Earth I almost feel as though your are watching (er reading) a slow motion tragedy. Actually I can't off the top of my head think of a sunny future in a fictional setting for the Dwarves. which is just exactly where they maybe best. Looking to an uncertain future, holding his axe and bellowing for his armour.
The Return of the King answers this directly. The Mirkwood elves, Dain's people and the men of Dale were fighting up North.
Daín went out as Durin folk from the days of Durin I or Durin the deathless should've as brave warriors!
Short legs were still walking…😂
