  1. Tex-Mex musician Joe "King" Carrasco (born Joe Teusch) adopted the drug king's surname.

Los Socios de San Antonio have tribute song entitled "La Muerte de Fred Gomez Carrasco".

  2. Did anyone else notice how he said that no more death sentences were carried out and then and then the next sentence was talking about how a large number of executions happened between that date in 2024?

  3. It was a different prison (Kingston pen in Ontario Canada), but I found out as an adult that my first babysitter/daycare provider, a lovely lady who ran a home daycare, had actually once been a nurse at the prison’s infirmary. A riot broke out a couple years before I was born, she was held hostage during, and she quit her job after that and never went back. Opened up her daycare instead. I can’t even imagine how terrifying it must have been.

  4. My sister-in-law was a social worker there when it happened, fortunately at the women's unit so they weren't involved and only went into lock-down. However, she did know some of those killed and some of the hostages, she quit shortly thereafter.

  5. As someone who graduated from Sam Houston University and live in the area, I have visited this prison and many others before as part of a gradute student group to understand the security of prison units. Simon, I implore you to take a organized tour of the Huntsville Unit and the Texas Prison Museum.

I find this incredibly interesting to have the history of this prison show up on this channel. If anyone is interested in a career in law enforcement or even corrections, do please check out Sam Houston State University.

  6. I lived here half my life and my grandpa was an executioner here. It's always been crazy to me that this prison is right in the city instead of out in the country like some of the other prisons

  7. the lowest form of human filth works at the Texas prison system. you can get any drug, cellphone, weapon, pretty much anything you want from the guards and or staff.
you can even buy pussy from the female guards!
