17-year-old Fort Valley native arrested in connection to murder at Green Meadows Apartments, sheriff

On Friday, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office announced they made another arrest in a fatal shooting in west Macon, this time a 17-year-old.

According to a release, Donathan Hill was arrested and charged with felony murder in connection to a fatal shooting at the Green Meadows apartments within the 3800 block of Log Cabin Drive on Dec. 8.

Keshon Knolton, 26, was found dead at the scene with a gunshot wound. Initially, the sheriff’s office reported that an unnamed 17-year-old was found also shot. An updated release said that Hill was that same 17-year-old found shot at the scene.

The sheriff’s office arrested James Chappell, 24, on Dec. 13 and charged him with murder. Chappell, who is from Byron, was arrested in Warner Robins in the 100 Block of Arizona Avenue, a press release said.

The shooting at Green Meadows on Sunday, Dec. 8 marked the second shooting on Log Cabin Drive that weekend after a woman was shot while putting up Christmas decorations in broad daylight. A man, Jahrius Whitehead, was arrested in that case and charged with aggravated assault.
