Sergei Kussewizki war von 1924 bis 1949 Musikdirektor des Boston Symphony Orchestra. 1937 gründete er das Tanglewood Music Festival, eine der herausragenden Musikveranstaltungen in den USA. In Tanglewood startete unter anderem Leonard Bernstein seine Karriere, zu dem Kussewizki ein fast väterliches Verhältnis hatte.
Serge Koussevitzky was music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1924 to 1949. In 1937 he founded the Tanglewood Music Festival, one of the most outstanding music events in the USA. Among others, Leonard Bernstein, with whom Koussevitzky had an almost paternal relationship, began his career at Tanglewood.
