  1. I want to like this car but it just doesn’t excite me. I had a 2009 Si and the fact that this car isn’t any faster is ridiculous. They should have 240hp in this thing by now. And the problem is the L15 is a weak motor and really can’t be reliably pushed much past stock without making windows in the block either, so simple bolt-ons and a tune isn’t gonna work for the long run either. So it’s basically keep it stock and a little bland but reliable or get a Type R. There really isn’t much other options, and that’s what sucks the most.

  2. According to the info in this video the best version is the so often bad mouthed 9th gen with the NA 2.4L K-series. (especially at sea level locations). The fastest with none of the dreaded turbo lag.

  3. Solid take. Although I would argue that our expectations aren't the problem, especially when you look at all the competitors. The VW gti has 240hp, and sure the Si has always trailed behind the gti, but never by that much. Its disappointing to see the civic si hp number go from 197 (2006) to 200 (2022) in 16 years!

  4. Unless you're going for type R, the money is better spent on Elantra N at this point… I miss the high revving 8th Gen Si that I had. I was hoping that the new Si was better, and it is a better car. But is it a better Si? It really doesn't feel like it regardless of the lap times.

  5. I'm sorry, 9 months and 10,000 miles isn't long term to me. This might be a good review for people who lease their vehicles and swap them every 2 years. I tend to keep mine for 10+ years. So this review is useless for me.

  6. I agree with the recommendation for the fix for the Si. But add two more things to the fix list. Fix the REV hang that drive me crazy and make the interior of the rear the same color as the front.

  7. Personally, I would prefer if they used some more lightweight materials/engineering in the Si and the Integra more than a power bump, including the option to nix the sunroof. That being said, I think it’s excellent as is.

  8. I wouldn't mind swapping out the turbo for a supercharger on this type of Civic, a roots, or twin screw type. Not everyone like superchargers, but I would think it would sound nice on this Si.

  9. The "7.0-7.5 vs. 8.1" discussion muddles the question and causes confusion. For the type of car it is, the Si clearly earns a 7.0-7.5 and not an 8.1. Let's remain rational.

  10. I have a cdn version and can say it is an excellent affordable fun car. Power is fine, handling is very good. The car is a great commuter and great on gas to boot. I got mine with a small discount so pricing for me was great. Not a believer that anyone should pay over MSRP. Walk away and the problem will go away.
