  1. This video needed 1 more topic of discussion, that being Leia's "slave" outfit. I can only imagine the controversy surrounding Carrie Fisher's appearance in that skimpy outfit, in a kid friendly movie no less. πŸ˜πŸ”ž
I bet a lot of boys dreamed of saving her from Jabba's… clutches?

  3. I prefer the blue saber, but I do like the green(works well for Qui-Gon Jinn, just not for Yoda, since he should be BEYOND the use of a lightsaber). "The Empire Strikes Back" is the BEST "Star Wars" movie and one of the GREATEST films of all time.

  4. I know the most important thing about return of the jedi, it's the last good star wars movie made, prequels were bad and Disney stuff is pure garbage and don't even deserve the star wars name

  5. People loved Jedi back then, but it was seen as the weakest, in comparison. Oliver Stone used to call insincere acting, 'mark hamill moments', which I always thought was unfair. Mark's simple honesty was best for the farmboy who becomes a knight.
I concur with you, the series ended in 1983 (I do like Caravan of Courage), but what came after…well, it's not for me.
There are three films from my childhood that I love, and will always love.

  6. Great video and I love to see appreciation for Return of the Jedi! Lots of fab little clips and nostalgia stitched into this video, my favourite being Harrison (well, Han Solo as he is in costume!) sat there reading a copy of Motor magazine – brilliant! I'd never seen that before!

  7. Got to meet David Prowse once and he was not shy about saying how unhappy he was that he did not get to be in the suit when Luke takes the helmet off. They never told him that they had hired another actor for the role. Lucas also blamed Prowse for leaking the plot twist in Empire where it was revealed that Vader is Luke's father, which caused a huge rift between the two. Prowse insisted that he was not the leak, but Lucas didn't believe him. It turned out that it was someone else who leaked it to the press.

  9. Wait, one of the producers of the first two movies didn't want to be involved in ROTJ because the script was "too commercial"? Isn't that the whole f*cking point of the industry?

  10. As far as I'm concerned, the original three Star Wars films from 1977-1983 are the only good Star Wars films that I love and the original versions of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back are both one of my all time favorite sci-fi films. Star Wars 1977 was a stellar start to the Star Wars Franchise, The Empire Strikes Back has always been my favorite Star Wars film, and The Empire Strikes Back is the pinnacle of the Star Wars Franchise. I always enjoyed Return of the Jedi despite its flaws. Return of the Jedi was a pretty good end to the Original Star Wars Trilogy, the performances from Mark Hamill and Ian McDiarmid were both brilliant, and the throne room scenes with Luke, Darth Vader, and The Emperor were also great.

  11. I was wondering if you could do a video that covers a rather obscure "kids" movie from my childhood that brought me both lots of joy and unsettling terror? It's called "The Peanut Butter Solution" I don't know if you exactly take requests/suggestions and if this is the way to go about it but I thought I'd try because I really love what you do on your channel. I always look forward to your posts to make the week better. Thanks and keep doing what your doing sir.

  12. I absolutely hate James Earl Jones didnt recieve the proper recognition for his legendary iconic character role. When Luke removed Darth Vader's helmet at the end. I was like WTF?!!

  13. Ford really didn't like Han Solo. The 'General' who was ordered to blow up Endor was 'Moff Jerjerodd' and one scene that ended up on the cutting room floor (and you briefly show) has Jerjerrodd standing up to Vader, telling Vader he cannot enter a chamber – only for Vader to force choke him and Jerjerodd tells him his orders come directly from the Emperor and Vader backs down and sarcastically apologizes. Jerjerodd then equally sarcastically say's 'Very good' as he turns enters the chamber (his message seemingly being 'Don't think that you alone are privy to the Emperor's plans.')
The new Special edition had a couple of changes in Jabba's palace – one scene has Boba Fett skulking through the palace throne room and then tickling one of the hand maidens under the chin. It doesn't keep with the idea of the cold, focused bounty hunter.
I agree with the feeling that Return of the Jedi was the weakest of the trilogy. TESB was by far the best. But Starwars holds a special place in my life just for the opening shot of the Star destroyer and in the last few years the scene with a frustrated Luke on Tatooine against the sunset after being told he has to stay for another harvest genuinely pulls on the heartstrings and you can feel the recklessness of youth.

  14. The only two things you got to know about this movie it wasn't really that great it was better than anything that came after it in the 90s and so forth and the other thing Carrie Fisher look freaking hot

  15. As a kid this was my favorite entry but as I got older I now prefer Empire. I’ll be 40 this year and even tho I’m an old school fan and former collector I prefer the dvd or blu-Ray versions that had the extra scenes. I like the extra stuff in all the films and feel it’s Lucas vision finally fulfilled since he had the tech to do it. Also they fit better with the prequels and new SW series than the old versions

  16. 24:39 — Agreed, but for me, I think Rogue One did a good job leading into Episode IV. My only gripe being the CGI Tarkin and Leia. They should have just cast Charles Dance in the role of Tarkin and Billie Lourd (Fisher's daughter) as Leia. Dance can act anything, and having Billie play Leia in the final scene would have been a lovely send up to Carry. Yeah, she doesn't look exactly like her mum, but that's okay — it's all of two seconds. Personally, had they done that, I would have crying like a baby at the end seeing Carry's daughter carry the torch. πŸ™‚

  17. You left out the fake beard on the Rebel General. The action figure had already been designed with a beard, so they had to put a last minute, and badly designed, fake beard on the actor to match the toy.

  18. Return of the Jedi in my opinion was the best of the original trilogy. Though I agree it had the worst flaw with the Ewoks, it also had many more memorable scenes, and compares very favorably to The Empires Strikes Back.

The Space battle in ROTJ far more epic then the Hoth battle in TESB.

Finding out Darth Vador is Luke's father is huge, but learning Leia is Luke's sister is not far behind.

Meeting and training with Yoda just as epic as, Meeting Jaba the Hutt, and rescuing Han.

Meeting the evil Emperor for the 1st time more epic then Meeting Lando for 1st time

The 2nd battle Between Luke and Vador was better then the the 1st one.

The "I love you" "I know" of Han is equally good as when Leia says it.

The most epic (Gives you chills) quote was in ROTJ "You have lost your Highness, I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

The three top moments where you almost stop breathing from emotion happen in ROTJ…1.Yoda Dies, 2. Luke Looks upon his father's true face for the 1st time and realizes he was right, 3. Luke looking upon his Father as his body is burning, then later sees Obi Won, Yoda, and his Father at the end.
