Sounds unpleasant!!
Please no more Victoria era more Europe or Byzantine
I caught Scarlet Fever as a very young child in the early 1960s. Our house was quarantined but luckily antibiotics existed and me and my family survived unscathed.
TB was around in the 50's as well. My mom had it
Measles and Rubella are not the same illness. It's similar, but a different virus. Please check your facts before posting..putting out incorrect information can be very dangerous to many.
I had Scarlett fever because my doctor didn't tell me I had strep
TB was also spread by spitting
My daughter had roumatic fever it's really scary it took the cdc too finally diagnosed her . No doctor could figure it out . They first thought she had lupus like me but no.😢
Had scarlet fever in my youth.
Cholera sounds like my crohns disease …
Sounds like covid
👍👍
The whole Victorian era was a disease, horrible people.
Rubella is NOT the same as measles. Thus the MMR aka measles, mumps, rubella vaccine. Rubella can be known as German measles but is NOT the same as the other measles. I see where the confusion could be with that.
Apart from Smallpox that has been eradicated many countries still have outbreaks of several of these diseases. My mother had typhoid as a teenager, my siblings and I all had measles and one sister also got whooping cough. Thankfully we now have vaccines and antibiotics
I’d tell you what they called underwear back in the 1800’s but I can’t it’s a Victorian Secret!
Prince Albert died of typhoid fever not cholera you're giving them false information in this video is being reported for that next time do your research
Pregnant ladies who caught measles often gave to babies with birth defects, too.
I wonder if Anti-Vaxxers refuse penicillin and others antibiotics if they are diagnosed with STDs and serious infections? Ditto chemotherapy. Stupid to accept the cures and refuse the preventative.
But that’s the problem, isn’t it?
I wonder how many murderous epidemics, how many deaths, it will take for morons to figure out, “maybe there’s something to this vaccine thing.”
More soldiers in the Civil War died of communicable diseases than in battle.
My mother told me of a family down the street from her in Havana, Cuba, that was wiped out by TB. Whenever I didn't want to eat, she'd tell me if I didn't eat I'd get TB. I told her, we have antibiotics now, and TB is caused by bacteria. Always annoyed her.
Measles and rubella are 2 different diseases because rubella was German Measles’s , which is very different from normal measles.
My sister had Scarlett fever when she was young in the 50s
In Britain, it is actually illegal to spit in the street. People could get arrested by the police and fined. The reason why? TB spread! We hardly hear off it now but it will certainly come back, we have people who think nothing of hoicking up huge green lumps of mucus a spitting on the streets where people walk . Not enough police to go on the beat on the streets to stop it. Disgusting behaviour
I had Scarlet fever and Rheumatic fever! I though I was going to die!
With the changes and decreased levels of access to public medical services, increasing levels of poverty and homelessness, poor nutrition and sanitation, we are seeing a resurgence of all these "Victorian" illnesses.
Many migrants who have never been immunized or had nonexistent healthcare systems in their countries of origin, are also spreading many of these diseases to their host countries and populations.
I got scarlet fever as a premature infant in 1974. Good thing antibiotics had been discovered by then.
I caught Scarlett fever when I was pregnant. In 2008
Tuberculosis is still a threat. The bacteria has gotten stronger and antibiotics, weaker.
My brothers and I had measles, mumps, rubella (commonly called German measles), chicken pox, scarlet fever (our father had to stay with his parents while we were quarantined). Rubella, which caused severe birth defects, hit just before my mother became pregnant with my youngest brother. The 40s and 50s were scary times. And don't forget polio and the iron lungs.
