I look forward to checking Sun Princess out (or the next Sphere, depends on where they sail of course). Looks really modern and nice inside, a welcome break from the traditional gold and cream accents you get on all Princess ships at the moment.
What I don't love though is that Princess are moving towards bigger and bigger ships. I really love the medium sized Grand class ships and appreciate that they have a walkaround promenade, something that the newer and bigger Royal class does not, and I assume the sphere class won't either.
I'm surprised at what you said about the initial destinations. With a dome fitted and the large viewing windows, it would appear this is a cold weather ship. The Med and the Caribbean don't fit that ethos. I would have more expected to see her Cruising Alaska, or similar.
You have sold it to myself & hubby :0), we have just booked that ship for next September…..We havnt even been on this years cruise yet. Love your videos xx
All of this sounds fabulous. I’ve cruised princes several times but my last experience was unfortunate. One of their excursions was canceled due to weather this was Alaska and I never got the $259 refund. My travel agent and I both gave up on asking when we got no response from Princess after several tries. I trust you will have a delightful time on your cruise
My husband and I are celebrating our 43rd anniversary on the Emerald Princess in May. It will be our first cruise. I have been enjoying your videos and have learned so much. I am sure our experience is going to be so much greater than it would have been because of the information you share. I have downloaded the Ultimate Cruise Planner. I appreciate having the “how to guide”. I was a little lost before I downloaded it.
I can safely say that I will definitely NOT want to sail on her. Sounds a bit like Princess is following Celebrity's lead in having "reserved" spaces just for suite guests. I'm not against private dining rooms for suite guests, but when they set aside any other spaces for that, well….. then that ship is not for me.

I will be on the Enchanted Princess Mediterraneanan this June. My first time cruising since the pandemic. My last cruise was on the Star Princess Alaska. That ship has since been retired. Thanks for your informative cruise videos.
The Regal Princess remains our favorite ship at sea, and this new ship looks very interesting with some appealing features and upgrades.
BUT… Am I the only one who feels rather wary about the LNG thing? I mean, the kind of Diesel that all our previous ships have used for fuel is so safe that you would literally have a VERY hard time lighting it with a match. It CANNOT explode, and is rather reluctant to even burn. (It will burn very hot if it does ever get ignited, but its perhaps the safest fuel available.)
But Liquefied NATURAL GAS DOES explode, is under a great deal of pressure while stored in order to remain 'liquefied', and will burn VERY HOT AND FAST if ignited. I can't help but feel rather worried about floating around on what seems to me to be a massive bomb…
Does anyone have insights into this would help ease my concerns about this? I know the 'bean counters' have decided it's "safe". But… ???
I am sure many will like the new Sun Princess however the more I see or hear about it the less interested I am in cruising on it. I do hope that everyone who sails on it enjoys themselves. It just does not interest me and I will probably cruise less and less on Princess but that leaves more space for the rest of you.

Our first cruise was on an earlier Sun Princess. I’m not sure which version, but they were taping an episode of “The Love Boat” on the dock at one of our ports of call. The cast were residing on another Princess cruise ship. This was back in the day when your Princess pass got you onto any Princess ship, so we were able to do a cursory tour of the other ship before getting back on board the Sun Princess.

We just booked our third Princess cruise and we love the Medallion. Our first time to use the medallion was on Discovery Princess last June in Alaska. We have cruised on NCL, Royal Caribbean and Carnival and now. We love the Princess Cruise Line. Love the drawings of the Sun Princess and am looking forward to sailing her one day. I had to look up the dates of the previous Sun Princess ships 😮 the first launched in 1972 until 1988 and then another launched in 1995 and sailed with the name until 2020.

So glad to hear that Crown, Sabatini's, and especially Alfredo's and International Cafe will continue to be around. Love those places. Very excited about that wake view area. We loved the wake view areas on the Emerald and Crown. So relaxing back there with drinks and eats while watching and listening to the ship's wake! Loved the wake pool also. 👍

I read somewhere that each level of the three level restaurant will serve different menus. Don't know if this is correct. Also if Princess is changing the name of their Club Class cabins to Reserved does that mean the Club Class dining room will change its name too?
Loved watching this video, as my mother, aunt, sister, and I have two cabana mini suites booked for a June, 2024, Mediterranean cruise! This will be our first time cruising together, as well as all of our first time on Princess! And my aunt is a complete cruise virgin! We are looking so forward to it!

I saw a press release on the new ship a few weeks ago. It looks amazing! But It appears to be geared towards Europe destinations and not USA destinations….

Long time Princess cruiser, over 30 years. Absolutely NOT impressed. Again no observation lounge or full wrap around promenade deck. Big no, no for me. Another ginormous ship with monetized public venues. No real full size aft pool! All of it a major PASS. Now if Princess really wanted to win me back they should build modern replicas of the original Pacific/Island Princess.
Where did this ship come from Ileana because we cruised on the Sun Princess( obv a different ship) about 4 years ago from Brisbane to Sydney Australia .

A few months back we did two Princess cruises (Crown and Discovery). The medallion system worked moderately well on board (drinks ordered did not always get delivered to us). However, where the system really fell down was pre-cruise. Trying to get registered through the Medallion App was an absolute nightmare. With the help of suggestions from the CruiseCritic website we found a way to do the registration online rather than through the app, but even there it was a battle. Hopefully Princess will work on sorting out those problems.
