  1. I'm gonna be honest. BeastieBall is the anti-Cassette Beasts for me, but this is actually a compliment. Everything I love about mon-tamers is completely gone in Cassette Beasts, but made stronger in BeastieBall. Cassette Beasts gets rid of the idea of monster compassion and companionship, reducing every monster to just something that exists for humans to beat up. In BeastieBall, the monsters are not forced into glorified rooster fights like in other mon tamers. They, instead, play a fun, harmless game of volleyball. The monsters aren't forced to join you like in other mon tamers. They join you by choice, as long as you have a strong enough jersey. And, finally, while the designs in Cassette Beasts are devoid of emotion and personality, the Beasties in BeastieBall are brimming with it. …at least the monsters that are finished.

Yeah, not gonna lie. The unfinished sprites in BeastieBall is kind of an immersion breaker. I get that they wanted to finish the game itself and release it so people could enjoy it earlier, but part of me does wish they waited till they finished more of the monsters.

Still, it is a really fun game, and I really like the monsters. Especially Diggum. Diggum is so adorable with that chubby little body and deep, dopey voice of his.

  2. I played through Beastie ball and loved it! I want them to finish the monster designs and animations, but I really liked it anyway.
I enjoyed Ova Magica. I stopped partway through and will get back to it likely after the next big update.
Moonstone island was ok, but frustrated me. I think they've added some quality of life stuff that may help that but I haven't gotten back to it yet. I basically felt trapped as I wanted to collect monsters, but then had to stay close to home to feed them. It took forever and a day to find moonstones so I couldn't easily make another barn to act as a portal so I ended up getting bored with no progression and swapped to another game.
Palworld is fun. I'll play it for a bit, then toggle to something else, then toggle back.
Bloomtown was fun, but not something I feel like going to replay once I finished the main story.

  3. For me Palworld was indeed no 1, kinda wish the company wasn't dealing with what are right now though.
Yaolings was great, though the difficulty curve late game is wayyy too steep.
I definitely plan to try Dokimon at some point, but the other games on this list do nothing for me. They aren't bad, just not what I'm looking for in the genre.
