  1. What makes REC sooo good is that the the majority of the cast were not actual actors. Most of the residents actually lived in that building or were locals from the area. Most of the fire fighters are the actual fire fighters from the station shown in the film. The lead, Manuela Velasco, is real legitimate TV presenter in Spain. To add to this, most of them were not told what was going to happen most of the time during the parts where they are being attacked by zombies including the falling body from the staircase leading to most of the reactions recorded being VERY real.

  2. I am happy that WhatCulture (You specifically)
For finaally giving .Rec the recognition that it so rightly deserves.
When I first became aware of this movie and heard how scarey it is. I made sure to stream it during daylight hours, the movie is so delightfully frightening (Yes, even the 'Jump' scares,) that when I finally re-watched it, I made sure to do it very late at night (or very early morning) when my quarters were as dark as the night outside. Great movie (especially with edibles).

  3. I was initially upset that you would include Quarantine instead of [REC] only to be really impressed when I realized you also included [REC] and its one good sequel. I guess I need to learn to withhold judgment until the end of the video. BTW, One Cut of the Dead is in my top five zombie films, top five found footage films, and probably top ten horror films. Anyway, this list turned out to be awesome and there are even a couple here that I have not yet seen. Thanks.

  4. I think Diary of the Dead is mostly let down by the fact that most of the characters are unlikable and make decisions that make no sense. Most particularly the documentarian who keeps letting his friends get bitten while he films and does nothing to warn them or help. Him not making it to the final credits felt right.

  5. If anyone is interested there is a foundfootage movie call Re-Kill sorta type of movie set like a tv show about trained soldiers (many of which were average civilians before the zombie virus) trying to dwindle down the remaining zombies from the first outbreak before the zombies can cause a second wave of outbreak (which they just refer to as a second outbreak) far worse than the last and Manhattan is sealed off with a wall to keep zombies there inside due to there being too many to rid of.

It’s actually more interesting than I described if you get pass some of the fake commercials in the movie to make it like you are watching something on tv. Only thing is it doesn’t start or end found footage as it starts with the girl turning to the show and the show ending and revealing said girl is a zombie along with a conspiracy safe haven mention earlier in the movie that is revealed to be true and the only survivor of the group we been watching had made it there. I’m not going to say who since I already spoil enough as it is, but I can say it fits one of the typical horror movie tropes.

  6. You guys mention One Cut of the Dead so much (which is cool) but always mention the list of twists from start to finish, which is such a bummer. I watched it without knowing anything and enjoyed it. Knowing the twists kind of ruins it (as I’ve seen while showing it to people who have watched your videos that give it all away).

  7. I'm glad V/H/S 2 was on the list, but I'll add: while it's worth watching the whole thing to see a ride in the park, the entire movie deserves just as much praise. the first V/H/S is great, but this one took it up quite a few notches.

  8. "Offers a grueling look at the xenophobia of the United States……. at the racism of America towards immigrants "
Well, we do welcome more immigrants than all the other countries of the world combined every year, so we're gonna have to get better at our xenophobia. Maybe we could follow Greece's example- they've taken at least 43(that we know about, the number is likely much higher) asylum seekers back out into the middle of the ocean and dumped them overboard to drown. But yeah, America is the xenophobic country. Speaking of that, how's the mass immigration working out for the U.K., whatculture? Any problems arising from London being turned into a Muslim sanctuary yet? Certainly the compassionate brits are welcoming them with open arms, right?
    Do better.

  9. You know a genre lacks material when you have to include Diary of the Dead in any list with "best" on the title … film is as mediocre and frustrating as it can get. No, is not a solid B Film, is just a bad film. Now Savageland, that's one of the most underrated found footages films ever … is a must watch for every horror fan.

  10. I’m surprised when I saw this list but it didn’t have Zombie Diaries on it. Check that one out. Really good found footage Zombie movie with decent acting (minus one actor) and good story. There’s a sequel as well called….. you’ll never guess….. Zombie Diaries 2……

  11. Why is it that on every video when someone hits their "S's" its ear piercing?! My ears are still ringing lol anyways I saw the first movie Jerzalem, I thought it was pretty good not what I was expecting at all 😊

  12. I would’ve really enjoyed JeruZalem… except Sarah is the absolute WORST horror MC I’ve ever ran into. Watching her make stupid, selfish decision after stupid, selfish decision in addition to listening to her blubber and whimper (usually as a result of her stupid decisions) for literally the ENTIRE second half ruined the whole thing. She is one of the biggest reasons- if not the main one- that the movie’s rating is so low on IMDB. If you read the user reviews, a majority of low ratings state Sarah is the main reason they hated it.

It may not be a masterpiece, but it could’ve at least been fun… without Sarah.

I was really excited to see a new twist on zombies but very quickly realized the MC was the worst. Not even in a “love to hate” type of way.

    So disappointing.
